Home Healthcare in Türkiye: Applying, Assessment and Service Limits

If a patient's condition makes attending a healthcare facility difficult, ask about Evde Sağlık Hizmetleri. An application starts an assessment process; it does not guarantee acceptance, an immediate visit or a live-in nurse.

⁦1️⃣⁩ Understand the service

Ministry of Health units describe home healthcare as medical services that can be delivered at home to people dependent on a bed, device or their home because of a diagnosed condition. The team assesses need and whether care can safely be provided there; a need for everyday assistance alone does not establish acceptance.

⁦2️⃣⁩ Apply and follow the assessment

The patient or a relative can call the national centre on 444 38 33 and explain the condition, address and contact details. The coordination centre reviews the request, and the team assesses the patient and decides on acceptance and the plan. Ask for the reference number, responsible unit and assessment arrangements. A visit time published by one local unit is not a nationwide guarantee.

⁦3️⃣⁩ Specify needs and check what is included

⁦4️⃣⁩ Confirm the foreign patient's position

Give the unit the patient's identity-document type, insurance position and actual address. Ask about acceptance, required documents, payment and communication in a language you understand. A residence permit or SGK registration alone does not establish cover for every visit or device. For a private service, obtain the provider's identity, responsible professional, tasks, hours, price and cancellation terms in writing.

⁦5️⃣⁩ Prepare in six steps

⁦1️⃣⁩ Collect the discharge report, diagnosis, clinician's plan and medicine list.

⁦2️⃣⁩ Describe the required service, mobility limitations and precise address.

⁦3️⃣⁩ Apply through 444 38 33 and keep the reference.

⁦4️⃣⁩ Confirm assessment arrangements, documents and interpretation needs.

⁦5️⃣⁩ After assessment, request the visit plan, responsibilities and supply arrangements.

⁦6️⃣⁩ Keep visit records and contact details; report changes in address or condition.

⁦6️⃣⁩ Separate scheduled care from emergencies

Home healthcare is planned around appointments and assessment. In an emergency in Türkiye, call 112 without waiting for the team or insurer. Ask the team beforehand when hospital care is needed and whom to contact outside service hours.

⁦7️⃣⁩ Frequently asked questions

Does calling guarantee acceptance?
No. The request is reviewed and clinically assessed.

Is this an all-day live-in nursing service?
Do not assume so. Confirm the tasks and hours in writing.

Is it free for every foreign national?
The national contact number does not establish that. Confirm eligibility and charges for the individual case.

Does a visit include medical devices?
Confirm the report, supply and payment route separately.

Is the same number used for emergencies?
Call 112 in an emergency; home healthcare is a scheduled service.
