ÖSYM Exam Accommodations in Türkiye 2026: Disability and Health Needs

If a disability or health condition means you need arrangements for an exam administered by Türkiye’s assessment centre ÖSYM, start with the specific exam guide and deadline. Accommodations depend on the report, exam and centre’s decision; they are not automatic.

⁦1️⃣⁩ Identify the exam and your needs

Read the guide for the specific 2026 exam cycle, including eligibility, application dates and the accommodation procedure. Admission, language and graduate exams differ; do not assume a university or school exam uses the same process.

Describe the practical need, such as a reader, answer-marking assistance, large-print booklet, equipment or accessible setting. Additional time may be granted according to assessment; do not rely on a fixed amount before approval.

Start with the difficulty you face inside the examination room: do you need a reader, an answer marker, a large-print booklet or a particular aid? Record the need supported by your report and check the available options in that examination’s guide. These are examples, not a guarantee of any arrangement. Procedures may differ for temporary conditions or reports issued outside Türkiye.

⁦2️⃣⁩ Check your electronic report

The AİS candidate system provides access to information from certain electronic medical reports. Check validity, diagnoses and any disability percentage, and confirm that the relevant details appear correctly.

If necessary details are missing, contact the issuing hospital about digital registration and ask the centre or exam guide about an alternative route. A paper report or disability assessment does not automatically submit an exam accommodation request.

In the candidate account, look for E-Rapor Bilgilerim (My Electronic Reports) where available and check the report’s validity, diagnosis and displayed disability percentage when applicable. If relevant data are absent or inconsistent, ask the issuing hospital to check their entry in the health system, then review them again. Contact ÖSYM about the appropriate route before the exam deadline: checking the report is not itself an accommodation request.

⁦3️⃣⁩ Submit within the exam cycle

ActionWhat to confirm

Accommodation requestChoose the needs supported by your case and the guide
Submission routeOnline request or additional documents when applicable
DecisionWhat the centre approved and how it appears on the admission document

Some candidates with complete electronic reports can submit information and requests through their account without mailing the report. Do not generalise this to all candidates or cases. Follow the specific exam guide and ask the centre when digital records are unavailable or the condition is new.

Illustrative example: a candidate checks a visible electronic report, then selects a need consistent with their situation in the exam application under the instructions and keeps the submission confirmation. The candidate subsequently checks the request and admission document, asking the centre about discrepancies. A visible report alone does not establish approval of a reader or extra time; the centre confirms what applies.

⁦4️⃣⁩ Check approval before exam day

Keep evidence of the request and monitor your candidate account, admission document and official instructions. If arrangements or the location are unclear, contact the centre before the exam and bring what the guide requires; submission does not establish approval.

International candidates should check account access, accepted identity, report requirements and the procedure for their exam. Do not assume that a report issued abroad will be accepted electronically without verification.

If your condition changes after applying, or the expected arrangement is not shown in the admission document, do not wait until the examination room. Contact the centre about the evidence, channel and deadline for that exam and keep the date and response. A report or further application may be required depending on the case. Do not send medical data to an unauthorised party.

⁦5️⃣⁩ Five practical steps

⁦1️⃣⁩ Identify the exam, cycle and deadline in its guide.

⁦2️⃣⁩ Check the report details and validity in your candidate account where available.

⁦3️⃣⁩ Request the appropriate arrangements and submit evidence through the authorised route.

⁦4️⃣⁩ Keep the request reference and follow the decision and admission document.

⁦5️⃣⁩ If information differs or your condition changes, ask the centre promptly about the procedure.

⁦6️⃣⁩ Frequently asked questions

Does a disability report automatically grant extra time?
No. Arrangements depend on the request, report, exam rules and the centre’s decision.

Are all requests online only?
Do not generalise. Check the route and documents for your exam and circumstances.

What if report information is missing?
Ask the issuing hospital and the centre about updating data and the alternative route.

Are university-run exams governed by the same arrangements?
Not necessarily. Check the organiser and its guide for each exam.

Does submitting a request mean approval?
No. Follow the arrangement decision and admission document.

Does checking my report submit the accommodation request?
No. Check the report, then make and follow the exam-specific request under its guide.

What if my condition changes after applying?
Contact the centre promptly and ask which evidence, channel and deadline apply to that exam.
