Türkiye Visa Applications in Saudi Arabia through VFS Global
Introduction
The Turkish Consulate General in Jeddah announced a change to visa application services in Saudi Arabia. VFS Global became the sole authorised visa service provider from 12 January 2026.
The change concerns applicants in Saudi Arabia who need to submit a Türkiye visa application through a visa application centre. It does not require Saudi passport holders to apply for a visa for visits covered by their visa exemption.
What changed?
From 12 January 2026, VFS Global became the sole authorised company handling Türkiye visa applications in Saudi Arabia.
The centre’s role includes:
• Receiving applications and supporting documents.
• Organising submission appointments.
• Collecting the applicable service fees.
• Forwarding applications to the relevant Turkish embassy or consulate for a decision.
When did the change take effect?
The consulate’s announcement, published on 8 January 2026, specified:
• Appointment booking through VFS Global would become available on 10 January 2026.
• The new provider would begin receiving applications on 12 January 2026.
Who is affected?
The change affects people applying in Saudi Arabia who require a visa and must use the visa application centre route. Requirements depend on nationality, passport type and the purpose of travel.
Eligible travellers can still use Türkiye’s official e-Visa system. Check whether you qualify before booking a centre appointment.
Saudi citizens holding ordinary or official passports are exempt from visas for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. They therefore do not need an ordinary tourist visa application through the centre for a visit covered by that exemption.
Preparing your application
Before booking, check that you have:
• A valid passport.
• Chosen the visa category appropriate to your travel purpose.
• The required photograph and supporting documents.
• Proof of lawful residence in Saudi Arabia, if you are not a Saudi citizen.
• Travel and accommodation reservations, where requested.
Avoid buying non-refundable tickets before the final visa decision.
Important reminders
• Avoid agents who claim to guarantee a visa.
• Book through the authorised official channel.
• Paying a service fee does not mean your application will be approved.
• The embassy or consulate may request additional documents or an interview.
• Requirements vary by nationality, passport type and travel purpose.
Summary
VFS Global has been the sole authorised visa service provider in Saudi Arabia since 12 January 2026. Turkish embassies and consulates retain responsibility for approving or refusing applications.
The provider change does not remove the separate official e-Visa route for travellers who meet its eligibility conditions.
