Numbers, languages, information hours and emergency support
The Foreigners Communication Centre, YİMER 157, answers questions about visas, residence permits, international and temporary protection and migration services. Identify the procedure you are asking about and distinguish an information enquiry from an urgent report. The official August 2026 announcement explains different hours for information and emergencies; 24-hour availability should not be applied to every type of enquiry.

When should you call?
Information enquiries are available on weekdays 08:00–18:00 Türkiye time. The emergency assistance and reporting line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Explain whether you need procedural information or are making an urgent report. Do not rely on the phrase “24-hour service” alone when arranging an ordinary residence enquiry.| Your need | Announced availability | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Migration procedure information | Weekdays 08:00–18:00 Türkiye time | Identifying the application system or office to contact. |
| Emergency assistance or reporting | 24 hours/7 days | Reporting an urgent situation within the centre's remit. |
| A formal transaction or notification | Through the relevant channel and its instructions | Tracking the file or reading the official notice, beyond a general enquiry. |
Numbers and languages
Call 157 from within Türkiye or +90 312 157 11 22 from abroad. The announced languages are Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic and Persian. Request the most suitable language and retain the Turkish term shown on your document when describing a particular procedure.Use the official YİMER website to identify current digital contact channels. The announcement also describes electronic contact options. Obtain their current details from the official site rather than an advertisement or chat group. A digital enquiry can help explain a question but does not change the legal nature of a notification concerning your file.
What can the centre clarify?
Ask about migration service routes, the residence application system and matters related to visas or international and temporary protection. Its practical value is directing your question to the appropriate procedure and competent office. Use a specific question such as “Should my extension application use e-İkamet, or am I booking a different Göç Randevu service?” or “Which office should I contact about this notification?”The centre provides information and guidance. The competent authority assesses and decides a residence application. An answer to a general question is not approval of your file and does not allow you to disregard a requested document or formal deadline. Explain any file-specific instructions accurately instead of treating general advice as a ruling for every case.

Preparing a clear enquiry
Write down the procedure, your file's stage and the question you need answered. Have the application reference and relevant document available if applicable, but do not publish them in public groups. This is practical organisation, not a compulsory document list for every call.| Before calling | What to note |
|---|---|
| Identify the procedure | First application, extension, transfer, address or another enquiry. |
| Identify the stage | Before submission, after submission, document completion or receipt of a notice. |
| Formulate the question | One clear question followed by related follow-up questions. |
| Record the next step | The system, office or instructions you need to consult. |
Practical enquiry examples
A hypothetical student might ask: “I am an international student and have submitted my residence application. Where should I give fingerprints for my university? Is an advisory vehicle service available, or should I follow my directorate appointment?” The question identifies the person and procedure without assuming another university's service is available or that fingerprints mean residence approval.A hypothetical extension applicant might ask: “I have a UETS account and received an alert. Should I check the notification inside my account, and which office handles the document request?” The enquiry explains the next action. Reading the notification, recording its date and acting on its contents remain the applicant's responsibilities. Do not wait for a general enquiry response when a formal deadline is already running.
Protecting your information
Use the official numbers and website. Avoid intermediaries claiming to sell residence approval or guarantees in YİMER's name. Do not disclose e-Devlet or UETS passwords or verification codes to an intermediary simply because they claim to contact the centre. Confirm the channel and purpose before sending any document to a competent office. After the call, record the office or route indicated, the question answered and any action requiring confirmation by the migration directorate. These notes organise follow-up but do not replace an official written decision or notification. For legal deadlines, consult the decision itself and the competent authority rather than an undocumented summary.
