✈️ Start with the airport code
Istanbul has two distinct airports: Istanbul Airport IST and Sabiha Gökçen Airport SAW. Read the code on your ticket before choosing accommodation: a hotel near one does not automatically suit a flight from the other. Location matters particularly for late arrivals, early departures and long connections, especially with children and luggage.

Inside Istanbul Airport, two hotels have similar names but different access requirements. ISG serves Sabiha Gökçen beside its terminal. This comparison helps you book somewhere you can actually reach on your itinerary.

🏨 YOTEL Landside: convenient before departure
On the departures floor of Istanbul Airport's main terminal, near entrance 7, this hotel suits arrivals from the city, domestic travellers and passengers collecting and rechecking baggage. Its practical advantage is resting inside the terminal without an additional drive to an outside hotel.

🛏️ Check the room category carefully. Some rooms are windowless, and space and occupancy vary between compact rooms and suites. A large bed does not mean the basic category accommodates a family. International arrivals should establish the procedures for reaching the public side, including any entry requirements applying to their documents and itinerary.

🛂 YOTELAIR Airside: rest within international transit
In the international duty-free area, this hotel requires a valid boarding pass for an international flight. It suits passengers who can remain in transit, with baggage checked through to their next destination or transfer arranged with their airline. You take hand luggage into this area, so pack what you need for your rest.

🧳 If separate tickets mean collecting and rechecking baggage, or your onward flight is domestic, do not choose purely on the description “inside the airport”. Contact the hotel and airline before paying. Hourly and overnight stays are offered, but establish the available duration and arrival and departure times, particularly when your connection crosses midnight.

🚌 ISG Airport Hotel: a Sabiha Gökçen option
ISG stands beside Sabiha Gökçen's terminal. The airport's information confirms a hotel shuttle between the terminal and hotel. Ask for current meeting instructions, how to contact the hotel on arrival and availability at your flight time. The existence of a shuttle does not establish that it is free or runs without advance arrangements.

🌿 The hotel offers rooms, suites and connecting accommodation, alongside a garden, fitness facilities and sauna. These are useful points of comparison, but connecting-room availability, permitted occupancy and included services need confirmation when booking.

✅ Questions that settle the booking
🔎 Is departure from IST or SAW, and does the airport change between flights?
🎫 Can you enter the hotel's area, and is your next boarding pass available?
🧳 Will baggage transfer automatically, or must you collect it?
⏰ Does the booking start at your actual arrival time, leaving enough sleep after formalities?
🍳 Is breakfast included and served in time for your flight?
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Do beds and occupancy suit everyone, including the children's ages?
💳 What happens to cancellation terms if the flight is delayed or rescheduled?

Add the room, transfers and meals, then weigh the total against comfort and time available. A terminal hotel may suit a short connection; an outside hotel requires allowance for the road journey, return and airport procedures. Leave enough time to reach the gate even when sleeping at the airport: proximity to the terminal alone does not determine walking distances or security queues.
