The Asian side merits comparison when you want to explore Kadıköy and Moda or spend much of your trip east of the Bosphorus. It is particularly useful when appointments or visits are near your hotel. If your entire itinerary centres on Sultanahmet and Taksim, calculate the daily crossing before choosing accommodation simply for a larger room or nearby shopping centre.
Kadıköy brings together markets, restaurants, Moda and ferry terminals. The M4 links Kadıköy with Sabiha Gökçen Airport, with a Marmaray interchange at Ayrılık Çeşmesi. Do not assume every Moda hotel is beside a Marmaray station: check your actual route to it.
Coastal Üsküdar offers ferry, Marmaray and M5 connections. However, Üsküdar also appears in inland addresses far from the waterfront pier. This distinction matters when comparing a hotel near Emaar Square with one beside the Bosphorus.
In Kadıköy, the hotel advertises proximity to Moda, ferries and the metro. It offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and restaurants, and its page lists connecting rooms and cots.
DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul – Moda.
Opposite Kalamış Marina, the hotel offers room outlooks over the city, sea or marina. Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, fitness centre and several dining options.
Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamış Marina.
At Emaar Square in Ünalan, Üsküdar, Address has direct access to the shopping centre. It offers an indoor pool, fitness centre and spa with a Turkish bath.
Address Istanbul at Emaar Square.
| Hotel | Suitable area and plans | Check carefully |
|---|---|---|
| DoubleTree Moda | Kadıköy, Moda and ferries | Room category and routes to stations |
| Wyndham Kalamış | Kalamış, the marina and hotel facilities | Travel to central Kadıköy |
| Address Istanbul | Emaar Square and shopping | Inland location away from the coast |
Add breakfast and repeated journeys to the accommodation price. A cheaper room may save less if the family needs a car every time it leaves and returns. Check airport access separately for Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul Airport: being on the Asian side does not guarantee a short airport journey.
Check return ferry times and rail alternatives for your travel day, allowing for waiting and walking. When visiting both sides, group each area's sights into a single day to reduce transport changes.
For Kadıköy and ferries, start by comparing DoubleTree Moda. For Kalamış and varied hotel facilities, consider Wyndham. For Emaar Square and shopping, compare Address with a clear plan for reaching the coast. Choose the location serving most days of your trip, then compare rooms and services.
