Hotel parking: check the entrance and charges before you arriveWhen you hire a car in Türkiye, hotel parking becomes part of the itinerary. “Parking available” might mean a paid garage, valet parking or a limited number of spaces that cannot be guaranteed. Start with the size of your car and how you will use it: will you go out several times a day, and will you have lots of luggage or a roof box? Then compare the garage entrance, total cost and route to reception.

Check this before choosing a tall vehicle or adding a roof box. Compare your car's actual travelling height with the limit and ask the hotel to confirm suitability. Recheck parking and charging costs and charger availability for your dates.

Hilton Istanbul BomontiThe hotel lists paid covered, secured parking and valet parking, with in/out privileges. Its information page states that EV charging is unavailable. If you expect several outings each day, ask how returns are recorded and which period the charge covers. For an electric car, arrange charging elsewhere.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Istanbul OttomareAsk the hotel to confirm its indoor parking and valet arrangements, the charges and whether a space can be reserved in advance. Do not assume EV charging is available. Published parking prices may differ between pages, so request a total directly before booking. Ask for the height limit with a clear unit: the current overview displays “230 height limit” without explaining the measurement.

Arriving by car takes more than a map link Request a pin for the garage entrance or a photograph of the gate. The hotel's map link may lead to the main entrance or a frontage where stopping is prohibited, while the garage is on another street. Save a suitable drop-off point if you need to unload passengers and luggage first.
Check the car's height as it will be on the journey, including a roof box or rack. The description “SUV” is insufficient. Ask about the entrance ramp if your car is low or large; the published height limit says nothing about tight turns.
With valet parking, ask how to request your car and how long morning collection takes, especially on the day you return to the airport. Keep essential belongings with you and check the hotel's handover and receipt arrangements.
If you will leave in the morning, return at lunchtime and go out again in the evening, obtain confirmation that repeated entry and exit are included. Ask whether charges continue after check-out if you leave the car until the evening.
Ask about the charging connector, power output, session activation, energy and parking charges, and time limits. A charging bay may be occupied or unsuitable for your car, so a charger alone should not determine your choice.
Calculate the cost of staying with a carCompare the room rate, parking for the whole stay, valet charges if used, and charging if required. Consider how much your itinerary needs a car. A slightly dearer hotel with clear parking arrangements may work better than a cheaper offer that leaves you searching for a space every night.
“Our car is a (...) and its height with accessories is (...). We expect to go out several times a day. Please send the parking entrance location, vehicle size limits, total charges for our stay, entry and exit conditions, space reservation arrangements and charging details, if available.”
Confirm these details before collecting the car, then keep the hotel's reply with your booking so everyone travelling understands the arrival and parking plan.
