A lift alone does not make a hotel accessible. A step at the entrance, a narrow bathroom door or a steep route to the restaurant can create difficulties. Whether you use a wheelchair, want fewer stairs and shorter walks, or travel with an older person, check the route from the car to the bed and bathroom, then to breakfast and your daily outings.
| Route | Useful detail | Specific question |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance | Step-free access from the drop-off point | Is the accessible entrance the main entrance or a side entrance? |
| Room | Door width and space beside the bed | Will it accommodate my mobility aid's dimensions? |
| Bathroom | Accessible shower and fixed supports | Does this category have a threshold, seat and grab rails? |
| Going out | Suitable pavement and a shorter route | Can I reach the car and restaurant without stairs? |
The official accessibility list includes mobility-accessible rooms, roll-in showers, bathroom grab rails, accessible parking and routes to restaurants. Request the appropriate room name and photographs: the list covers several features and does not establish that every room has all of them. Specify the side on which you need transfer space beside the bed or toilet.

The official page lists an accessible entrance, lifts, mobility-accessible rooms and roll-in showers. An apartment can be useful when you need separate living space, but the number of bedrooms says little about accessibility. Send the dimensions of your wheelchair or walking frame and ask the hotel to confirm door clearances and space in the exact apartment being booked.
Published accessible-room features include wider doorways, lowered controls, roll-in showers, grab rails and emergency pull cords. Send your requirements before confirming a room. A photograph of a standard suite or bathroom does not represent the accessible category, so request photographs of that category itself.

The official room categories include accommodation labelled accessible, with accessible bathroom facilities among the published specifications. Use this as the starting point for enquiries. Confirm the shower, doors and distances between the room and facilities for your particular category and dates.

“We need a room with step-free access from the car to the room and breakfast area. Our mobility aid measures (...). Please confirm the shower type, door widths, bed height and transfer space, send photographs of the accessible category and confirm its availability for our dates.”
