Staying on the Princes' Islands is worthwhile if you want to see the island after the day visitors have left, but it takes more planning than a hotel in Istanbul itself. This comparison focuses on Büyükada, where all three properties are located; it is not a list covering every island. Start with the ferry route and the walk from the pier to the hotel, then choose between a historic mansion and more contemporary boutique rooms.
Opened in 1908, Splendid Palace has a bright internal courtyard, historic interiors, rooms and suites, and a pool among the trees. A useful family option is the 50 m² Splendid Connection Suite: it is listed for four guests, with one double bed, two single beds and one bathroom. The hotel notes that bed arrangements may vary with availability. Consider it if the building's atmosphere is part of the attraction. A family of five should not assume this suite will accommodate everyone: request an arrangement approved for your party and check the route to the room and any stairs before booking.

Ada Palas describes itself as a nineteenth-century mansion combining Ottoman architecture with contemporary comforts, with the Secret Garden restaurant on site. It offers Standard, Deluxe and Premium rooms and stresses that individual rooms differ. Consider it for a small historic boutique property with a garden restaurant, but do not assume every room matches the photographs. Request a photograph of your allocated room if a balcony or seating area matters, and check its occupancy. For a quieter stay, ask where the room sits in relation to the restaurant and whether any events coincide with your dates.

Kumsal offers a contemporary boutique property with 18 rooms. Categories include a garden room with its own entrance, Deluxe rooms, sea-view rooms and a terrace room overlooking the island. The useful distinction is how access and outdoor seating differ between categories. A separate garden entrance may appeal if you want direct access, but it does not establish that the route is step-free; request a clear description. If the terrace or sea view is the reason for choosing the hotel, make sure it appears in the category you are paying for. Check occupancy and bed arrangements rather than relying on the hotel's general photographs.
