Official Online Services in Türkiye: Government Portals for Foreign Residents

Türkiye's digital services let residents obtain records, check applications and complete many transactions online. Availability depends on the service and your identity or residence status; some procedures still require an appointment, original documents or a visit. Use this directory to find the competent institution rather than assuming one portal completes every application.

e-Devlet: the government gateway

e-Devlet provides access to participating institutions' services, including address records, social-security information, tax enquiries, fines and educational records where available to your account. Sign in using an accepted method, such as an e-Devlet password or participating internet banking. A foreigner identity number and the service's eligibility rules matter; a passport alone does not unlock every function.

Migration services

The Presidency of Migration Management publishes residence-permit guidance and links to its official application and enquiry services. Use e-İkamet for the relevant residence application and the official appointment route specified for your procedure. An online form may be followed by document submission or attendance; completing it is not approval.

Population and citizenship services

NVİ's appointment portal covers the procedures it offers, including relevant address and identity services. Foreign residents may need to coordinate address matters with the provincial migration directorate. The Turkish service name is useful when searching. Browser translation can help navigation, but check legally important wording and entered details carefully.

Tax services

The Revenue Administration's current main service is the Digital Tax Office. It offers relevant tax-number applications, payments and enquiries. The Interactive Tax Office address also appears in older guidance; begin with the current official portal and follow its links. Some services allow e-Devlet authentication, while others have their own access requirements.

Work permits and social security

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security provides work-permit rules and access to the appropriate application systems. SGK is the separate source for social-security registration, contributions and coverage. A work-permit application and social-security registration are related obligations, not a single interchangeable service.

Higher education

YÖK provides information on recognised universities, higher-education policy and diploma recognition/equivalence. Universities publish their own international admissions requirements. Government scholarship applications follow the official programme's portal and dates rather than a universal YÖK application.

Other useful official sites

Use the portals safely

Start from the institution's verified official website; a familiar logo or search advertisement alone proves nothing. Many government sites use .gov.tr, but some legitimate municipal sites use other official domains, including the İBB address above. Never give an intermediary your password, banking login or verification code. Keep receipts and application references. Browser translation is an aid, not a reliable substitute for understanding a legal form. Creating eligible e-Devlet access can simplify many tasks, but it does not remove other institutions' requirements.
