İstanbul Judicial Interpreters 2027: Eligibility, Documents and Applications

The Justice Commission of the İstanbul First Instance Court of Ordinary Jurisdiction has invited applications for the 2027 judicial interpreter list. Published on 1 October 2026, the notice concerns the provincial judicial-list system associated with Article 202 of the Criminal Procedure Code. It is a local route for eligible applicants, rather than the purchase of translation services or automatic registration with a notary.

This guide organises what an applicant needs before delivering a file: eligibility, supporting documents, the application form, language evidence and the receiving office. Information was checked on 20 October 2026 against the official notice and its attachments. Reception hours on Saturday 31 October, any application fee and 2027 assignment rates remain unconfirmed; they must not support promises of acceptance or income.

Who may apply?

A Turkish residence permit or knowledge of a foreign language alone is insufficient. Review these eight requirements before spending money on documents, and ensure that your circumstances and information meet them when you apply.

Disciplinary position	No disciplinary dismissal from the profession or public service, or prohibition on practising the profession.
Connection with İstanbul	Residence or professional activity within the commission’s province.
Other lists	Not registered on another commission’s list.

The criminal-history provision covers specified offences against the state and judiciary, terrorism, and offences including embezzlement, bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, breach of trust, fraudulent bankruptcy, smuggling and bid-rigging, including the pardoned or deferred situations stated in the text. This is a reading aid, rather than a replacement for the official enumeration or an assessment of an individual’s record.

Dates: take particular care with the final day

The announced window is 15–31 October 2026 during working hours. The notice excludes applications after 31 October. That date falls on a Saturday, but neither the final reception time nor arrangements for opening the interpreter desk that day have been established. Do not replace the deadline with Friday or Monday, or assume that a duty service in the courthouse means this application desk will receive files.

If you plan to attend near the end of the window, establish the examination/interpreter desk’s own reception hours in advance. The courthouse’s published general enquiry number is ⁦0 212 375 75 75⁩. Ask specifically about the commission and responsible desk, rather than merely building-access hours. This review did not establish a published clarification resolving the Saturday issue.

The seven documents and how to organise them

The notice lists seven items because the application form itself is item 1. The Excel form lists six supporting attachments to that form. These are consistent counts, rather than conflicting document requirements.

7	Disciplinary-status document	Evidence concerning the dismissal or professional prohibition specified in eligibility condition 6.

For people already registered on İstanbul’s 2026 list, the notice waives items 2, 4 and 6. The application form, required address-based population documentation, two photographs and document concerning dismissal or prohibition remain. This is not automatic renewal or an exemption from applying again. Do not buy additional certificates or certification merely because a general online checklist suggests them; follow the original notice and the responsible office’s instructions for your circumstances.

The Excel form: your fields and the commission’s fields

Download the official EK-1 interpreter application form and complete it on a computer. The form expressly rejects handwritten forms. Its main fields concern your name, identity number, place and date of birth, parents’ names, telephone, email, address, employment, profession, academic title, and requested language or dialect.

The account field specifies a 26-character Turkish IBAN including TR. Its presence does not establish that you will receive a payment or a guaranteed assignment. Check the details and signature, and glue the photograph in the indicated position as instructed. Two printed application-number fields show 2026 and 2027 respectively and are marked for the commission. Leave them to the responsible office; do not alter the original to fix what you assume is an error. The petition itself concerns the 2027 list and applications in October 2026.

Keep the downloaded original and a copy of the file you prepare. Do not publish identity numbers, bank details or document images in a public forum reply. Accurate form preparation does not replace personal attendance or complete supporting documents.

Language evidence and separate declarations

The notice accepts an original diploma, licence or certificate relating to the language or languages in which you wish to interpret, including sign language, or a commission-approved copy. The commission may approve an unapproved copy after inspecting the original.

Where suitable documentary evidence is absent, the notice provides the EK-2 language-declaration form: a separate written declaration for each language you know sufficiently to carry out interpretation. If you apply for two languages without documentary evidence for either, prepare separate declarations rather than assuming that one combined declaration is sufficient. The original form read for this guide addresses the 2027 list and has a signing-date field for October 2026.

The notice specifies no guaranteed Arabic-language quota, uniform CEFR level or automatic success merely from attaching a declaration. A statement of language ability does not guarantee commission acceptance and should not be replaced by a CV or commercial advertisement for your services.

The two submission routes and UYAP’s limited role

The published courthouse address is Çağlayan Meydanı, Şişli Merkez Mahallesi, Abide-i Hürriyet Caddesi No. 223, Şişli/İstanbul. On arrival, ask for Adalet Komisyonu Sınav-Tercüman Masası and the specified room. The notice rejects applications through another person, by post or by fax. Downloading a form or retrieving documents from e-Devlet does not change the delivery procedure.

Check completeness before leaving the receiving office, and retain copies and any submission reference it issues. Do not regard onward transmission as completed merely because you prepared the file. Ask what confirms receipt under your chosen route.

Application charges and assignment fees: what is established?

No application-fee amount was established in the notice or form, and the limited official search did not establish an original 2027 judicial-interpreter assignment-fee schedule. Accordingly, this guide does not describe applying as free, set a price per hearing or word, or substitute notarial translation prices or expert or witness fees for this list.

Distinguish your own document, photograph and travel costs from an official charge for a specified procedure, and from payment for a judicial assignment if one occurs. Inclusion on the list is not an employment contract or monthly salary and guarantees neither a number of assignments nor a fixed income. Obtain an official basis for any amount requested, identifying its purpose and recipient before including it in your budget.

After submission: missing documents, results and the oath

The notice provides for review by 30 November and rejection of applications found to have missing documents. It does not establish a general right to remedy every omission later, so prepare on the basis that the initial file must be complete.

Follow the official İstanbul courthouse announcements for the results scheduled for 1 December 2026 and the oath-ceremony announcement. The application form states that failure to attend the oath ceremony leads to rejection. Do not make bookings around an assumed ceremony date or treat initial document receipt as final inclusion on the list.

A preparation example and common questions

Illustrative example: an applicant who meets the citizenship or Mavi Kart condition is applying for the first time in two languages and has a certificate for only one. They organise the seven document items, including form EK-1, provide the first language’s certificate and a separate declaration for the second as permitted by the notice, and check their age on the actual application date and connection with İstanbul. They choose a personal-attendance route rather than treating an email from their own account as submission. This illustrates document organisation; it does not decide an individual’s eligibility.

Is a residence permit alone sufficient?
The notice does not establish that. It requires Turkish citizenship or a Mavi Kart under Law 5901/28, alongside the other conditions.

Must every copy be notarised?
The notice allows the commission to certify copies of language and graduation evidence after inspecting the originals. Do not add requirements from a general notarial guide.

Is my 2026-list registration enough?
No. It creates specific exemptions from three document items, while the application and other required documents remain.

Can I rely on the courthouse opening on Saturday?
This desk’s reception hours on 31 October were not established. Check with the responsible office without changing the published deadline yourself.

Does applying for Arabic guarantee assignments?
The notice guarantees no quota, assignments or payment for any language.
