Football matches between Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş give visitors a chance to experience local rivalry amid an intense supporter atmosphere. The experience varies with the home club, stand, ticket availability and your plans for getting there and back.
Information dated 1 October 2026.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe first met on 17 January 1909, in a friendly that Galatasaray won 2–0. Today, the rivalry also reflects Istanbul's geography: Fenerbahçe's stadium is in Kadıköy on the Asian side, while Galatasaray's is in Seyrantepe on the European side.
Beşiktaş's meetings with both clubs complete the city's principal derby fixtures. When planning a visit, identifying the host stadium is more useful than relying on the fixture's name alone.
| Fixture | What to establish before booking |
|---|---|
| Galatasaray v Fenerbahçe | Is the match at RAMS Park or Fenerbahçe's stadium in Kadıköy? |
| Beşiktaş v Galatasaray | The host stadium, card conditions and available stand |
| Fenerbahçe v Beşiktaş | Which side of the city you will stay on and how you will return after the match |
- Start with officially available tickets: sales phases may restrict eligibility by the club logo on your supporter card or a particular priority category.
- For a clear view of player positioning, choose a seat along the side of the pitch if one is available within your budget.
- Stands behind the goals suit visitors who want to be closer to organised supporter groups, with the possibility of standing and sustained chanting.
- If bringing children, check seating categories and age conditions, and arrive with enough time to enter without rushing.
These practical suggestions help you choose an experience that suits you. No stand guarantees quiet, and no match guarantees a particular result.

Check the Turkish Football Federation schedule and the club's announcement before committing to travel bookings. The allocation of a fixture to a round does not always mean its day and kick-off time have been confirmed at the start of the season.
Allow time for travel and security checks, and read the rules on bags and other belongings. Keep to the sector on your ticket, follow the organisers' instructions and use the designated exit route. Arrangements for away supporters may differ between fixtures.
If a suitable derby ticket is unavailable, another home match for the same club still offers the chance to enjoy its stadium and supporters. You can add a club museum visit on a separate day, after checking opening times.
