🚇 Getting to Istanbul Stadiums on Matchday

Choose your transport after confirming the stadium, gate and kick-off time. Istanbul's stadiums are spread across the city, and you need extra time when supporters gather before the match and leave afterwards.

Information dated 1 October 2026. Use these routes for planning; check line operations and matchday announcements before setting off.

🏟️ Three stadiums, three approaches

StadiumA route to build your journey around
RAMS Park — GalatasarayTake M2 to Sanayi Mahallesi, change platforms for the Seyrantepe train, then follow stadium signs
Fenerbahçe stadium — KadıköyTake M4 or a ferry to Kadıköy, then walk towards your stadium gate; Söğütlüçeşme station is another approach
Beşiktaş stadium — DolmabahçeTake T1 to Kabataş, or F1 from Taksim to Kabataş, then walk towards the stadium

Metro İstanbul confirms that reaching Galatasaray's stadium by M2 requires a platform change at Sanayi Mahallesi for Seyrantepe. Ferries connect Kadıköy with the European side, while M4 serves the Asian side and Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

⛴️ Ferries: work out the return journey

Şehir Hatları operates the Kadıköy–Beşiktaş service, alongside other routes connecting the city's two shores. Check the precise pier and the timetable for your travel day: some sailings differ between weekdays and holidays.

Calculate when you can reach the pier after the final whistle, including time to leave the stadium and walk there. If the last sailing is too early, prepare an alternative suited to your accommodation before the match begins.

📱 Before leaving the hotel

  • Save the stadium name, gate and ticket, and ensure your İstanbulkart has sufficient credit.
  • Check metro announcements for changes or closures, and consult the line operating times.
  • Add time for connections, walking and security checks: an app's journey time does not include queues at the gates.
  • If you are travelling by car, check the club's parking arrangements and road closure announcements.

🌙 After the final whistle

Some lines may extend their services specifically for a match, but this requires an official announcement for that fixture. Follow the exit signs, agree on a clear meeting point in advance if travelling as a group, and check the train's direction before boarding.

Avoid leaving only a narrow gap between the match and your airport journey. Your itinerary should allow time to collect luggage and travel, especially if you need to cross between the two sides of the city.
