Enpara provides banking through digital channels. This guide retains its 2025 framing and explains its accounts, debit card, application process and the conditions foreign applicants need to check.
Service update — 8 October 2026: Enpara now operates as Enpara Bank A.Ş., following the transfer from QNB Bank; describing it simply as a QNB Finansbank service is outdated. Its current FAQ says foreign applicants must have lived in Türkiye for at least six months, be domestically resident with a foreign identity number (YKN), and speak Turkish. Free basic services do not mean every transaction is free. See the migration notice and current FAQ.
Start by identifying your need: an account for receiving and transferring Turkish lira, bill payments, a shopping card, or receiving foreign currency. The details and fees to check depend on the transaction. These steps help you prepare an application; they do not mean the bank will approve an individual case or automatically make every service available.
What is Enpara?
Enpara Bank is a bank within QNB Group, operating primarily through its mobile app, internet banking and customer-service channels, without a conventional Enpara branch network. It has arrangements for relevant cash services through QNB ATMs and, in exceptional cases, QNB branches. The absence of a conventional branch network therefore does not mean that every cash service can be performed on the phone itself.
Its basic digital TRY transfer services are advertised as free. Other services, including external foreign-currency SWIFT transfers, may carry charges. Always check the applicable tariff and confirmation screen.
An Account, a Debit Card and Credit Are Different Services
| What are you using? | Its everyday purpose | What should you not assume? |
|---|---|---|
| Current account | Holding funds, receiving payments and sending transfers through the appropriate account and currency. | Opening the account does not mean approval for every product or access to every transaction without conditions or fees. |
| Encard debit card | Purchases using the balance linked to the card, subject to the relevant settings and usage limits. | A debit card does not automatically provide a credit limit, instalments or acceptance at every merchant. |
| A credit card or credit product | A separate product with its own application, assessment and terms. | Account approval or receiving an Encard does not automatically constitute credit approval. This guide does not promise a credit limit or compare loan offers. |
This distinction helps you choose the right application. If your aim is to receive a salary or pay a bill, start with the account and transaction terms. For online shopping, also check the card settings, balance and limit. Do not select a different product simply because its name appears in the app.
Account features
- Free basic account opening and no account-maintenance fee.
- Free digital domestic TRY havale, EFT and FAST transfers under the published terms.
- An Encard debit card for eligible customers; check the issued card’s network and current product terms rather than assuming it is always Visa.
- Supported electricity, water, internet and other bill payments through the app.
- Digital account management; check available interface/support languages before applying. The foreign-customer conditions expressly require Turkish.
- TRY, USD and EUR current-account options, subject to the relevant product terms.
- Access to the bank’s customer-service channels; check availability for the particular service you need.
Choose the account and currency appropriate to the transaction. Having several accounts in the app does not mean every incoming amount will arrive in the currency you expect without processing or conversion.
What Does “Free” Mean in Practice?
| Service or situation | What do the reviewed sources say? | What should you check before confirming? |
|---|---|---|
| Basic account services | Basic account opening and maintenance, and basic digital TRY transfers, are described as free. | That the transaction uses the intended category and channel. Do not generalise this to every currency, product or payment. |
| TRY havale, EFT and FAST | Basic digital domestic TRY transfers are free under the published terms. | The beneficiary name, IBAN, amount, transfer system, limits and displayed outcome. Free does not mean guaranteed instant execution. |
| Foreign currency within Enpara | The official FAQ describes internal foreign-currency transfers as free. | The receiving account, currency and transaction type. Do not apply this description to an external transfer to another bank. |
| USD or EUR sent outside Enpara through SWIFT | An external transfer carries a fee displayed by the bank when the transaction is made. | Current account and SWIFT details, the displayed charges and any sender or intermediary-bank charges. No fee amount or arrival time is guaranteed here. |
| ATM withdrawals | The official FAQ describes TRY withdrawals at QNB ATMs as free and other-bank ATMs as chargeable. | The network, currency, limit and cost displayed before approval. Foreign-currency cash withdrawals require a QNB ATM equipped for that function. Neither cash availability nor free use of external ATMs is assumed. |
| Bills and other payments | Bill-payment services cover listed providers. A free category does not make every tax, payment or payee free. | The provider, subscription or customer number, payment source and displayed cost, and whether you have created an automatic instruction or completed an actual payment. |
| Card use outside Türkiye | Use depends on the issued card, merchant acceptance, settings and limits. Currency-conversion or cash-withdrawal costs may apply. | The currency, amount, displayed cost and card terms. Do not infer that every international use is free because a domestic service is free. |
Use the bank's tariff page and transaction screen to check charges. A revised tariff or a fee shown in a later year is not a fixed 2025 fee. This guide therefore does not adopt one numerical charge for every situation.
Documents and eligibility for foreign applicants
Before applying, confirm the bank’s current requirements for your circumstances. The published foreign-customer conditions include:- At least six months’ residence in Türkiye.
- Domestic residence and a foreign identity number (YKN).
- The ability to speak Turkish.
The six-month condition concerns time already spent living in Türkiye; it should not be reinterpreted as six months remaining on a residence permit. Having a YKN does not remove the need to meet the other conditions. There is no alternative document list here that guarantees acceptance for every nationality or circumstance: the bank determines the documents required and decides on the application after verification.
| What should you prepare or check? | Why does it matter? | What should you do if it is unclear? |
|---|---|---|
| The period you have actually lived in Türkiye | The six-month condition concerns prior residence, rather than simply registering an address or holding a new document. | Ask the bank which evidence is acceptable for your circumstances before completing the application. Do not invent your own way of calculating the period. |
| Domestic residence and a YKN | These are published conditions for foreign applicants, not substitutes for the remaining verification. | Provide details matching your documents and clarify anything missing through the official channel. |
| Identity, passport and required residence documents | They establish the applicant's identity and verify the accuracy of the information supplied. | Check document validity and the list the bank requests for your case. Do not treat a passport alone as guaranteed acceptance. |
| Address and contact details | They support verification and communication, and potentially a visit or card delivery. | Use an actual address and contact details through which you can receive the bank's instructions. Clarify which address evidence is required. |
| The ability to speak Turkish | This is expressly stated in the published foreign-customer conditions. | Do not assume that another language on a page, or a translation tool, removes the bank's condition or guarantees a different verification process. |
For a short-term visitor, account opening is not a guaranteed service simply because you have arrived with a passport. For a resident, check all three conditions and the document request before arranging an important incoming transfer or relying on an unconfirmed card-delivery date.
Applying online
- Start from the official Enpara website or official app and choose the account-opening option.
- Enter your accurate name, contact details and requested identity information.
- Follow the bank’s verification process. Its FAQ describes a video call or a visit to the applicant’s address, as appropriate.
- Read and complete the customer documents through the approved process. Confirm the identity of any visiting representative through the bank if you are unsure.
- Wait for the bank’s approval and follow its card-delivery and activation instructions.
Distinguish the Application Stages Before Using the Account
| Stage | What does it mean? | Practical step |
|---|---|---|
| Submitting an application | Your information has entered the application process. This alone is not final account approval. | Keep the application reference and bank messages, and check which documents or verification are required. |
| Identity and information verification | The bank completes verification through the method it determines for the case, such as a video call or an appropriate visit. | Prepare the requested documents. Do not treat an unexpected call or message as official without checking it. |
| The bank's decision and account availability | The application is completed in accordance with the bank's decision and the services made available to you. | Check account status and details through the official channel before giving them to someone sending you money. |
| Card delivery | Receiving a card is separate from merely submitting the account application. It should not be replaced by an assumed fixed delivery time. | Follow delivery instructions, and do not pay cash to a representative to fund the account. |
| Activation and usage settings | Card settings, the intended type of use and an appropriate limit may need to be completed. | Follow the bank's guidance for your card and account. Do not assume receiving the card automatically enables online shopping or every type of use. |
| The first transfer or payment | Each transaction has an account, currency, beneficiary details, limits and cost to review. | Read the summary before confirming, keep the receipt and check the transaction outcome rather than relying on the request having been sent. |
If a stage is delayed, check application status and the bank's specific message, then contact the official channel with the relevant reference. Do not start another application or repeat a payment simply because an earlier stage has not appeared immediately. First establish the status of the existing process.
The Encard debit card
- It spends from the linked account rather than automatically providing a credit-card limit.
- It supports eligible store and online purchases, with the necessary card settings enabled.
- QNB ATM withdrawals are covered by the published free-network arrangements; limits and other-bank fees still need checking.
- You can manage relevant card settings through Enpara’s digital channels.
Check the card you actually received; absence of verification is not a categorical finding that no support exists.
The bank's informational article explains the Ayarlar > Encard route and the “internet/posta/telefon ile alışveriş” option for internet, mail or telephone purchases, including the limit and enabling or disabling the relevant use. Screen names and details may change. Follow what appears in your app and the bank's guidance, rather than treating another card's settings as universal for all customers.
Before purchasing, check the card and linked account, balance, limit and type of use, then review the merchant, currency and amount. If a transaction is declined, check the specific message, settings and available funds before repeating it. A network logo on a public page does not guarantee acceptance at every shop or in every country, and enabling purchases does not guarantee that every transaction will complete.
Services in the app
- Domestic transfers and supported foreign-currency transfers; processing depends on the payment system and checks.
- Automatic bill payments through an “Otomatik Ödeme Talimatı”.
- Supported mobile top-ups, including relevant Turkcell, Vodafone and Türk Telekom services.
- Card and transaction-limit controls.
- Transaction records and available notifications.
An automatic instruction does not establish that every bill has been paid.
Transfers: Choose the Correct Account, Currency and Route
Check the beneficiary name, current IBAN, currency, amount and transfer type shown by the bank. Havale, EFT and FAST differ from sending USD or EUR to another bank through SWIFT. It is not enough that all of these appear under “money transfers”. Read the execution status, receipt and displayed fees. Do not assume immediate arrival for every currency or route.
The transfer of the service to Enpara Bank changed the bank code and the IBAN details associated with the migration. Obtain current account and transfer details from your account and the bank's channels, and update the information you give anyone sending you money. Do not rely on an old screenshot or a historical promise of transfer redirection lasting indefinitely.
The notice dated 18 September 2025 states that the legal partial demerger was completed on 28 August 2025. That is a legal date; it does not mean the technical transfer of every customer's accounts finished at the same moment. Batch and redirection arrangements were dated and conditional. They should not be presented as a permanent service applying to every customer in 2026. For an international transfer, obtain the bank name, account and SWIFT details required directly from the bank, and check sender or intermediary charges where applicable.
Paying a Bill or Creating an Automatic Instruction
Use the official bill-provider list and payment route. Check the company, subscription or customer number, billing period, amount and payment source. Seeing a provider listed in the app does not establish that the subscription number you entered is correct. Creating an instruction is not a payment receipt for a particular bill.
Review the payment result and transaction record, and ensure sufficient funds or an appropriate limit are available before the due date. When moving home or transferring a service, review existing instructions so that they do not remain linked to an old subscription. If an error or rejection appears, keep the reference and status message and check with the bank or provider, rather than repeating the payment without knowing its outcome.
Enpara and Papara compared
| Feature | Enpara | Papara |
|---|---|---|
| Provider type | Enpara Bank A.Ş., a bank within QNB Group | An electronic-money and payment-services institution |
| Application | Digital application plus the bank’s verification/approval process | App/web registration plus eligible identity verification |
| Charges | Free basic TRY services; chargeable exceptions | Free basic services; chargeable exceptions and limits |
| Bank transfers | Bank accounts and supported domestic/SWIFT transfers | Eligible Papara IBAN and bank-transfer features; not limited to Papara-to-Papara transfers |
| Currencies | TRY, USD and EUR current accounts | Check current account/product options; international receipts described by Papara are converted into TRY |
| Foreign-customer eligibility | Six months’ residence, domestic YKN and Turkish-language condition | Applicable verified-account requirements; not automatically available to passport-only tourists |
The comparison explains different provider types and their conditions. Approval for an account with one provider does not mean automatic approval with the other, and the comparison does not replace the terms presented to you when using the service.
If you only need to use Enpara, you do not have to open another wallet or complete a general step called “linking Enpara with Papara”. When moving money between two eligible accounts you own, use current beneficiary details, an approved route, and the actual limits and fees. The related guides expand on other aspects without repeating all their details here.
Frequently asked questions
Can I open Enpara without residence in Türkiye? The current foreign-customer conditions require at least six months’ residence, domestic residence with a YKN and the ability to speak Turkish. An address document by itself is not enough. These conditions do not guarantee approval of every application.
Can I use the card abroad? Eligible transactions depend on the issued card’s network, merchant acceptance, card settings and limits. Conversion and cash-withdrawal charges may apply.
Check the terms for your card and transaction rather than assuming free worldwide acceptance.
Is there a mobile app? Yes. Use the official app for the supported digital services and security controls.
Check available interface and support languages. A page-translation tool does not remove the Turkish-speaking condition for foreign applicants.
Can I receive an international transfer? Supported foreign-currency transfers use the bank’s current account and SWIFT details. Use the details shown by Enpara following the bank migration, and check sending/correspondent charges.
Also check the information the sending institution requires for the transaction.
Does submitting the application or completing verification mean the account is ready?
Wait for the bank's decision and the account status and available services shown through its official channel. Application, verification, card delivery and activation are separate stages. Do not arrange an important transfer around an unconfirmed expected timeframe.
Is Encard a credit card?
It is a debit card that uses the linked balance. Opening an account or receiving the card does not automatically provide a credit product, credit limit or instalments.
What should I do if online shopping does not work?
Check the account, balance, card limit, relevant purchase setting and rejection message. Use bank support if the issue remains unclear. Do not repeat the transaction at random or post a full card number or login codes in a public topic.
Does an automatic instruction guarantee that a bill is paid?
The provider, subscription number, payment source and instruction must be correct, and sufficient funds or an appropriate limit must be available. Check the payment result and record, particularly after changing home or provider.
Are all transfers equally free and fast?
Do not generalise the description of basic digital TRY services to every currency and channel. An external foreign-currency transfer through SWIFT is a clear exception: check its current charges, processing and details, without assuming one price or arrival time for every case.
Additional tips
- Compare the cost of the actual payment or transfer you need; free basic services do not cover every transaction.
- Set up automatic payments only after checking the bill details and maintaining sufficient funds.
- Use correct current transfer details if moving funds between your eligible Enpara and Papara accounts; no general wallet “linking” step is needed.
- Never share bank passwords, PINs or verification codes with an unofficial party or a person claiming to be bank staff.
Before confirming, check five points in the transaction summary: the account and currency, beneficiary, amount, cost, and outcome or reference. Keep the receipt and use official bank support if what appears differs from your intended transaction. Do not give cash to a visiting representative or rely on an unknown message to change beneficiary details or share a login code.
