Ordu's uplands offer a different landscape from its coast. Çambaşı in Kabadüz district and Perşembe Plateau in Aybastı district combine pasture, seasonal settlements and local traditions, but each has a distinct setting.
Çambaşı lies south of Ordu in Kabadüz. Its landscape combines woodland, open ground, plateau houses and visitor facilities around the main settlement.
The contrast between tree-covered slopes and broad pastures gives variety to a walk. The journey inland also reveals the change from coastal hazelnut-growing country to higher ground.
Perşembe Plateau is known for a stream winding across open meadows. Its gentle basin and sinuous watercourse produce a different scene from the more wooded parts of Çambaşı.
This is Perşembe Yaylası in Aybastı, a separate destination from the coastal town and district of Perşembe. Use the full place name when planning the drive or looking it up on a map.
These uplands are shaped by seasonal movement, grazing and everyday work as well as scenery. Houses, local markets and gatherings reveal their social role within the surrounding region.
Festivals and folk traditions can add another dimension when they coincide with your visit. Check actual event dates and respect residents' homes and working routines.
Elevation and weather shape the experience throughout the year. Green warmer-season meadows may give way to snow in winter, while fog can transform views at short notice.
Çambaşı's woodland and Perşembe Plateau's more open terrain make them complementary destinations. Choose according to your available time, the conditions and the kind of landscape you want to explore.
Check roads and weather before setting out, especially after rain or when fog affects the uplands. Do not assume that all facilities or activities operate throughout the year.
Follow established routes, respect private property and grazing areas, and keep the landscape free of litter. Allow enough time for the return journey rather than judging mountain-road travel by distance alone.
