Florya Atatürk Forest in Istanbul: Walking, Sports, Transport and Visit Costs​

Florya Atatürk Urban Forest is in Bakırköy on Istanbul’s European side. Its tree-lined paths, sports areas and places to rest make it suitable for a family outing in Florya. It is a different place from Atatürk Urban Forest in Sarıyer, despite the similar names.

Location and transport​

The forest is in Basınköy, Bakırköy. Florya Marmaray station is a useful planning point for the area; check your chosen entrance and distance to its gate before travelling. Do not confuse it with Florya Akvaryum station or the forest in Sarıyer. Open Florya Forest on the map.

What to do​

Walk among the trees on a route suited to your time and mobility, or stop for a family break. The municipality’s project includes sports areas and tennis courts. Check current availability, booking and price before planning around them; respect the paths and the peaceful setting.

Walk	Start with a short shaded route and adjust to the group’s ability.
Optional extra	Ask about a court booking or add a separate Florya waterfront visit after checking the distance.

Costs and facilities​

Budget for transport, food, parking and any sports activity. A court is separate from a walk in the forest and may require booking. A current standard entry or parking tariff has not been established here, so ask the operator rather than relying on an old price. Facility hours and availability can differ from forest hours.

Families and accessibility​

Choose an entrance and route suited to a stroller or wheelchair, and ask about path conditions and toilets in advance instead of assuming that every route is accessible. Bring water and comfortable shoes, and supervise children near cycling routes and sports areas.

Before you go​

Check current hours and weather notices on the day; the forest can close temporarily in dangerous winds. Do not assume cars can enter the internal paths: the municipality restricted vehicle movement as part of the renewal project. Avoid lighting fires and follow signs on site.
