Atatürk Urban Forest in Sarıyer: Walking Trails and Metro Access​

Atatürk Kent Ormanı in Sarıyer offers tree-lined walks in Istanbul. Also known as Hacıosman Korusu, it is distinct from Atatürk Arboretum and the Atatürk forest in Florya; add Hacıosman or Sarıyer when searching for directions.

The forest is in the Hacıosman area of Sarıyer. You can plan to take the M2 to Hacıosman and use the forest exit; check station and exit availability and the route on your visit. Find the forest on the map.

Choose your entrance and return gate before setting off, follow the signs and pick a route suited to your time and fitness. The municipality has described paths, ponds and nature-observation areas; facility access and water conditions may change. Stay in open areas and leave plants and wildlife undisturbed.

The forest and its nature​

The area is also known as Hacıosman Grove. When developing the urban forest, Istanbul municipality described walking paths, nature areas and ponds. These describe the project: check which facilities are open when you arrive. Follow the paths and site rules, leave no litter and avoid disturbing wildlife.
Choose a walk suited to your group rather than assuming that every route has the same length or gradient. Keep children supervised near the water and remember that paths may be slippery after rain.

Planning the metro trip​

A municipal guide describes arriving at Hacıosman station on the M2 and using the forest exit. Check the line, lift and appropriate exit before travelling, especially with a pushchair or wheelchair. On arrival, consult the site map and choose your return gate; the shortest route may not suit everyone.
For Atatürk Arboretum or Belgrad Forest on another day, search each destination by its full name and check transport and entry rules separately. Sharing the Atatürk name does not make these the same site.
