Forum Bornova in İzmir: shops, IKEA, food, access and family services
Forum Bornova combines outdoor and indoor shopping near Ege University in north-east İzmir. Its Mediterranean-town design connects streets, squares and seating areas, making fresh air and breaks part of the outing.
Check the weather and choose shoes and clothing for moving between outdoor areas. With children or a group, agree on a named shop and entrance as a meeting point. Divide the day into browsing and rest periods, leaving time for the main shop.
Address and opening arrangements
The address is Kazım Dirik Mah., 372 Sok., Bornova/İzmir; telephone +90 232 396 00 38. Save Forum Bornova specifically: Forum centres in other cities are different destinations.
The official FAQ lists 10–22 daily, whereas the contact page lists 09–22. Confirm your intended venue’s opening if arriving early. IKEA İzmir itself lists its store at 10–22 and restaurant at 09:30–21:30; breakfast or cinema hours do not apply to every shop.

Metro, bus and driving access
From Bornova metro, the centre points to bus 59 towards Kemer and 259 towards Yeşilova Mah. Check your day’s route, boarding point, destination stop and return direction: the number alone is insufficient. Management also identifies the Evka 4–Forum Bornova minibus.
For driving from the Çeşme–Aydın ring road, management identifies the 2. Sanayi–Yeşilova exit from either direction. Navigate from your location and save the car’s position and entrance. Ask about parking tariffs and conditions before leaving the car; do not assume valet or charging is free.
Shops, blocks, IKEA and home essentials
The directory uses blocks A1, A2, A4, B, C, D and E; Zemin means ground level, rather than a shop name. These examples help organise the route without guaranteeing stock or sizes. Check the branch first when a particular item is the purpose of your trip.
The centre includes IKEA and 5M Migros alongside fashion and appliances. For furniture or homeware, record room dimensions and package size and check assembly, delivery area and terms. Carrying a small item differs from taking furniture to accommodation or outside İzmir. Compare the product code and warranty as well as any discount.
| Need | Listed example | Directory location |
|---|---|---|
| Groceries | 5M Migros | A2 Zemin |
| Sport | Adidas | E Zemin |
| Clothing | Bershka; Calvin Klein | A1 Zemin |
| Appliances | Arçelik; Bosch | A4 Zemin |

Food, coffee and cinema
Sit-down examples include BigChefs, Midpoint and Baydöner in E Blok 1. Kat; Burger King and McDonald’s are in D Blok 1. Kat for quicker meals. Caribou Coffee is at D Zemin and Starbucks at B Zemin. Agree on a name and block, choosing terrace or indoor seating for the weather and available space.
IKEA’s restaurant lists breakfast 09:30–11 and lunch/dinner 11–21:30. Request the current menu and check extras, allergies and children’s meals. Restaurant and store hours are separate.
The operator locates Paribu Cineverse in F1 Blok. Choose the film, session and language: ALTYAZILI means subtitled and DUBLAJLI dubbed. Check age restrictions, seats and the final price, allowing time for payment, food and walking. An old photograph is not a current screening timetable.
Children, mobility and storing purchases
Management lists two baby-care rooms and a family WC, plus a baby-food and bottle-warming point in the large food court on 1. Kat. Ask information staff about an appropriate pushchair route and entrance, and fix a meeting point before splitting up.
Opposite pedestrian entrance 7, management lists lockers, the prayer room and the Mavi’nin Yeri dog-care point, expressly described as free. Check hours, size restrictions, terms and availability; this does not mean every animal is accepted inside every shop.
İste Gelsin lets visitors request equipment through the information desk on the centre’s phone number. Ask about availability, collection and return rather than assume an item will be available when you arrive.
| Need | Listed service | Useful arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Pushchair or wheelchair | İste Gelsin; free according to management | Confirm availability and return procedure |
| Baby essentials | Nappies through İste Gelsin and baby-care rooms | Ask location and available size |
| Powered wheelchair | Dedicated charging unit | Check location and compatibility |
| Car assistance | Battery booster through İste Gelsin | Request help from information |
| Storing purchases | Lockers opposite entrance 7 | Ask size and use conditions |
Purchase planning, prices and budget
Try clothing and shoes where possible, ask each shop about exchanges and retain receipts. After a break, check your list and bags before continuing. Measurements, weight and transport matter particularly for gifts and furniture.
| Purpose of visit | Useful preparation |
|---|---|
| Clothing or shoes | Identify sizes and try items on |
| Home essentials | Space measurements, package size and transport |
| Family outing | A meeting point and breaks between shops |
For a child’s meal at IKEA’s restaurant, confirm the current İzmir menu price, portion, drink and extras before ordering. Do not use an old menu price or apply it to other restaurants in the centre.
Separate shopping money from meals, cinema tickets, parking and delivery. Check activity prices, drinks, extras and transport charges before payment. A free equipment service does not make all centre services free.
Photographs, map and departure
Enjoy terraces, palm trees and awnings, choosing a weather-appropriate break. A photograph of a square or street captures the outdoor character; follow photography rules. The three images are archival, from 2022 and 2006, and current shopfronts may differ.
Before returning, check transport, bus direction and bag contents. A named meeting point and a photograph of the entrance or car location simplify departure, especially with children or heavy purchases.
