Konak Pier in İzmir: historic buildings, restaurants, access and visit planning
Konak Pier occupies historic buildings on İzmir Bay, formerly associated with customs and later restored as a centre with shops and dining venues. Its Atatürk Caddesi location in Konak makes a meal or break easy to combine with a day in the city centre. The architecture and waterfront form a central part of the experience.
For a 2026 visit, plan around the place you actually intend to enter. Older shop lists and the label “mall” do not guarantee a full retail outing; confirm a particular shop, restaurant or activity before making a special journey. The façades and bay setting can be combined with nearby Konak.
What to expect in 2026
The site’s operating rights have been subject to privatization procedures. On 2 October 2026, cancellation of the tender for a 36-year operating right for Konak Quay was announced. This does not establish that the entire building is closed or that a new entertainment project has opened. For a visitor, the practical step is to confirm the specific venue and reservation directly rather than rely on a sale headline or future proposal.
Restaurants including Primo, North Pier’s and Soirée identify their Konak Pier locations and provide contact or booking options. These are examples for planning a meal, not an exhaustive inventory of operating shops. If you are coming for a particular brand or cinema, confirm that day’s operation and programme first.

Address and access from central İzmir
Save Konak Pier together with Atatürk Caddesi in Konak. Building listings use No:19, while individual restaurant units may have different numbers. Here, “pier” means the former customs buildings on the bay, rather than a ferry boarding point. Share the restaurant name and unit number with your group.
Konak metro station serves the central area; continue towards the entrance using a map. If arriving by ferry, plan the walk from the landing rather than assume Konak Pier’s entrance is at the disembarkation point. Choose your return journey around the end of your meal, particularly in the evening.
For a car or taxi, identify a safe drop-off and your restaurant’s entrance, and ask about parking location and charges before arrival. Do not assume a direct indoor metro connection, free parking or a fixed walking time.
Historic architecture and browsing
Begin with façades, general details and interior spaces where entry is permitted, then browse the businesses you have confirmed. The setting suits architecture and a waterfront break; comparing many brands in one day requires checking the actual shop list first.
If you enter a clothing or footwear shop, try the size where possible and ask about exchanges while there. For gifts, consider weight, dimensions and wrapping before paying, assessing the item and workmanship alongside the pleasure of the setting. An archival photograph does not establish that a particular shop still operates.

Restaurants, coffee and bay-view bookings
Choose by meal, seating and group size, then confirm the time, reservation and available view. A waterfront address does not guarantee a window or outdoor table. Ask about allergies, children’s meals and access with a pushchair or wheelchair when relevant.
The following contact details appeared on the restaurants’ own pages when reviewed on 29 October 2026. Contact them for hours and prices: individual programmes differ, and uniform hours for the whole building were not established.
| Venue | Useful distinction | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| Primo | Italian dishes and pizza; No:19, unit Z30 | +90 501 701 29 92 |
| North Pier’s | Restaurant and music/event programme depending on the day; No:19/H–J | +90 532 664 84 82 |
| Soirée | Food, drinks and a breakfast menu; Atatürk Cad.21 | +90 232 425 70 00 |
A short architecture-and-meal outing
The following is a flexible sequence; the shop stop applies to businesses you have confirmed are open. You do not need equal time for each stage. For a reserved meal, start with your access route and the arrival time requested by the restaurant.
| Stop | What to do |
|---|---|
| Façades and walkways | Explore the building and photograph general details |
| Shops | Compare items, sizes and exchange terms |
| Café or restaurant | Choose from the menu and review the rest of your day |
If a break is your main purpose, check directly with the venue where you wish to sit: hours and choices can differ. Ask about booking for an occasion or larger group, allowing time to walk before and after the meal.
You can add Konak and Kemeraltı according to available time and walking ability. Avoid filling the programme with consecutive purchases if the purpose is a relaxed meal or architectural photography.
Budget, prices and services before ordering
Request the venue’s current Turkish-lira menu for your date and check portion size, drinks, extras and any service charge. A meal or event price does not represent other restaurants; a music night can have different booking terms or a minimum spend.
A readable current numeric restaurant or parking tariff was not established in this review. Do not budget from an old menu or an undated price. Before confirming an occasion, ask the restaurant for the total, cancellation terms and what the reservation includes in writing.
| Item | What to confirm directly |
|---|---|
| Food and drinks | Current menu, total, extras and service charge |
| Music night or occasion | Programme, reservation and any minimum spend or fee |
| Parking or valet | Location, tariff and closing time |
| Mobility and children’s needs | Accessible entrance, toilets and pushchair space |
Photographs, departure and map
Photograph the exterior and then an architectural detail inside the walkways where permitted. By the sea, leave room for pedestrians and keep your camera and phone secure while walking. The three photographs here are archival: they show the buildings and waterfront, not proof of current tenants or services.
Before leaving, collect receipts and check bag contents, then decide whether to continue around Konak or return to your accommodation. Allow flexible walking time and check the return service and any activity you want to add.

Frequently asked questions
Is Konak Pier the ferry landing?
This guide concerns the former customs buildings on Atatürk Caddesi. A ferry boarding point is a different destination.
Is it a conventional mall with all its older shops?
Do not rely on old directories. Confirm your intended shop and plan around the building and a specific dining venue.
Does cancellation of the operating-right tender mean everything closed?
No. The 2 October 2026 announcement concerns the tender; it does not by itself establish closure of every venue or opening of a replacement project.
Are opening hours uniform?
Confirm directly with the booked venue for your date. A restaurant’s hours or an older guide does not establish building-wide hours.
Can I contact restaurants there?
Primo, North Pier’s and Soirée identify Konak Pier locations on their own pages. Use the table’s contacts to confirm reservations and menus.
Is a cinema or particular shop guaranteed to operate?
Check the operator’s current programme or branch before travelling specifically for it. Photographs of the building do not establish current service.
Are parking and events free?
Ask about parking tariffs, event terms and reservations. Do not assume services are free or included in the meal price.
Is it suitable for a family or wheelchair user?
Plan walking and dining around your group, and confirm the restaurant entrance, toilets and pushchair or wheelchair access before fixing the booking.
