Introduction
Türkiye’s Presidency of Migration Management has warned foreign nationals about unofficial websites that charge for services advertised as obtaining or renewing residence permits. Its published warning says that misleading websites may unlawfully obtain personal data or defraud applicants.
What does the official warning say?
Residence permit applications are made through the official e-İkamet (electronic residence permit) system, which is linked from the Presidency’s website.
Commercial residence-permit websites, including sites promoted through search advertisements, may use domains such as:
• .com
• .com.tr
These are not the official e-İkamet portal and cannot issue residence permits. Entering your details on such a site is not the same as submitting an application through the official system.
What is the official website?
Use the Presidency’s e-İkamet portal for:
• A first residence permit application.
• An application to extend a residence permit.
• The appointment process for a residence permit application.
Official address: e-İkamet — Türkiye’s official residence permit portal
Follow the instructions shown for your application type.
Risks of using unofficial websites
Fraudulent websites can expose you to:
• Theft of personal data.
• Unauthorised or misleading charges.
• Incorrect information that may affect your application.
• Online fraud.
Practical precautions
• Always use the Presidency’s official website and e-İkamet portal.
• Do not share passport or residence permit details with unknown parties.
• Check the source of a search advertisement before relying on it.
• Check the full website address before entering personal information, and use the official portal linked above.
