Türkiye’s tourism sector recorded strong revenue in the first nine months of 2025. This report brings together third-quarter and January–September figures while distinguishing the statistical period and visitor group whose spending is measured.
According to TURKSTAT’s release of 31 October 2025, third-quarter tourism revenue was approximately US$24.26 billion, up 3.9% from the same quarter of 2024.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s briefing put January–September revenue at approximately US$50 billion, up 5.7%. Türkiye received approximately 50 million visitors during that period, including foreign nationals and Turkish citizens living abroad.
The ministry reported average nightly spending of US$103 for all visitors and US$116 for foreign visitors in the first nine months. TURKSTAT’s third-quarter release alone reported US$100 per overnight visitor. These cover different periods and groups; they are not a single range for an identical indicator.
Accommodation, activities and tours contribute to revenue. Higher prices can increase nominal spending, but the headline figures alone do not separate the effect of prices from additional services purchased. The entire increase should therefore not be attributed to one cause.
On 5 March 2025, the ministry announced a target of 65 million visitors for the year, compared with 62.3 million in 2024. This was an announced target, not the final result for 2025.
Tourism continued to play an important role in providing foreign-currency earnings for Türkiye’s economy.
Strong demand can make peak periods busier, especially summer and holidays, and increase demand for hotels, tours, flights and transport. It can also support jobs in hotels, restaurants, tourism businesses and transport companies, with effects varying by city and season.
This article presents figures for specific historical periods in 2025. It complements the article on visitor numbers and tourism markets without presenting these figures as current statistics.
