Summer 2025 brought names such as Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sané, İlkay Gündoğan, Ederson and Marco Asensio to the Turkish league. Understanding that transfer window, however, means identifying the club each player came from, the type of agreement and what the published amount represents: a transfer fee, loan fee, salary or conditional bonus.
This dossier brings together major signings by Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor. It explains the distinctions behind the headlines, with tables that make each deal easy to revisit.
The key deals in a minute
• Osimhen: A permanent move from Napoli for €75 million, following his previous loan spell at Galatasaray.
• Singo: A move from Monaco to Galatasaray for approximately €30.77 million.
• Uğurcan Çakır: A domestic transfer from Trabzonspor to Galatasaray for €27.5 million before VAT.
• Kerem Aktürkoğlu: Joined Fenerbahçe from Benfica for a guaranteed €22.5 million, with bonuses potentially taking the total to €25 million.
• Ederson: Joined from Manchester City; the €11 million figure in his signing disclosure refers to his annual net salary.
Galatasaray's signings
Victor Osimhen in the announcement of his permanent move to Galatasaray, July 2025.
| Player | Previous club and position | Deal type and announced term | Transfer fee to the previous club |
|---|---|---|---|
| Victor Osimhen | Napoli; centre-forward | Permanent; four years | €75 million net |
| Wilfried Singo | Monaco; central and right-sided defender | Permanent; five years | €30,769,230.77 net |
| Uğurcan Çakır | Trabzonspor; goalkeeper | Permanent; through the end of 2029–2030 | €27.5 million plus VAT; bonus details below |
| Leroy Sané | Bayern Munich; winger | Free transfer after his contract expired; three seasons | No transfer fee to the previous club |
| İlkay Gündoğan | Manchester City; midfielder | Free transfer; through the end of 2026–2027 | No transfer fee to the previous club |
What distinguishes these deals?
Securing Osimhen permanently differed from extending his loan: the agreement became a purchase of his registration rights, with a four-year contract beginning in 2025–2026. Sané and Gündoğan arrived without transfer payments to their former clubs, while salaries and other contractual obligations to the players remained.
Çakır's fee explained: Galatasaray announced €27.5 million plus tax. Trabzonspor stated a guaranteed €33 million including VAT, with a further €3 million conditional payment, also including VAT: a potential maximum of €36 million. These are different presentations of the same agreement, rather than three separate prices.
The Osimhen and Singo agreements also allocate 10% of the profit on a subsequent sale to the previous club. This is a share of the profit on a future transfer under the agreement; it is not an additional payment immediately due on top of the basic fee.
Football analysis: Across the positions, these signings comprise a striker, winger, midfielder, defender and goalkeeper. That helps explain the construction of the whole team, beyond a single headline name. Each signing's success must be assessed through his actual role and performances during the season.

Fenerbahçe's signings
Ederson in the announcement of his move to Fenerbahçe, September 2025.
| Player | Previous club and position | Deal type and announced term | Financial detail in the announcement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kerem Aktürkoğlu | Benfica; winger | Permanent; four years through 2028–2029 | €22.5 million guaranteed; up to €25 million with bonuses |
| Ederson | Manchester City; goalkeeper | Permanent; three years plus a one-year option | Transfer fee not stated in the signing disclosure |
| Marco Asensio | Paris Saint-Germain; attacking midfielder and winger | Permanent; three years through 2027–2028 | No amount stated in the club announcements reviewed |
| Milan Škriniar | Paris Saint-Germain; centre-back | Permanent after his earlier loan; four years | Transfer fee not stated in the signing disclosure |
| Nelson Semedo | Wolverhampton Wanderers; right-back | Joined after his previous contract expired; two years | Arrived at the end of his contract; no financial estimate included |
| Archie Brown | Gent, Belgium; left-back | Permanent; three years plus a one-year option | No amount stated in the official announcement reviewed |
| Dorgeles Nene | Red Bull Salzburg; winger | Permanent; five years through 2029–2030 | No amount stated in the official announcement reviewed |
Two points to keep clear:
Aktürkoğlu had previously played for Galatasaray, but his summer 2025 move to Fenerbahçe was from Benfica. It therefore was not a direct transfer between the rivals. Brown joined Fenerbahçe from Gent and is listed here under the correct club.
Ederson's €11 million is the player's annual net salary as stated in the disclosure. It does not establish the amount paid to Manchester City, which is why it is kept separate from the transfer-fee column.
Football analysis: These arrivals added options on the wings and in creative positions, alongside the goalkeeper, centre-back and both full-back roles. Follow how each player combines with his team-mates and how responsibilities are shared. A collection of attacking names requires coordinated use of space; defensive signings need a back line that works together.
Beşiktaş's signings
Wilfred Ndidi signing his contract with Beşiktaş, summer 2025.
| Player | Previous club and position | Deal structure | Financial detail in the official announcement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wilfred Ndidi | Leicester City; defensive midfielder | Permanent | €8 million |
| Tammy Abraham | Roma; centre-forward | 2025–2026 loan with a permanent transfer triggered by contractual conditions | €2 million loan fee; €13 million for the conditional purchase |
| Václav Černý | Wolfsburg; winger | Permanent; three years plus a one-year option | No fee stated in the signing announcement |
| Taylan Bulut | Schalke; right-back | Permanent; five years | No fee stated in the signing announcement reviewed |
| Rıdvan Yılmaz | Rangers; left-back | Permanent; three years plus a one-year option | No fee stated in the signing announcement reviewed |
| Orkun Kökçü | Benfica; midfielder | Loan with a conditional permanent transfer; one year plus four years | No loan fee; €25 million purchase when the conditions are met |
Why does Abraham's agreement need two financial entries?
The original deal began with a loan from Roma for €2 million for 2025–2026. The announcement provided for the permanent-transfer clause to take effect if the contractual conditions were met, at a cost of €13 million paid in instalments. Describing it as an outright purchase for €2 million would therefore omit a fundamental part of the agreement.
Kökçü: The Benfica agreement provided for a 2025–2026 loan without a fee to the previous club, followed by a €25 million purchase if the contractual conditions were met. Its structure covered one loan year and four additional years under the permanent-transfer clause.
Football analysis: These signings strengthen defensive midfield, centre-forward, winger and both full-back positions. Useful questions include whether space in front of the defence is reduced, whether good chances reach the striker, and whether winger and full-back combine in attack and recovery. Those details reveal more than judging a deal by its fee alone.
Trabzonspor's signings
| Player | Previous club and position | Transfer type | Transfer or loan fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paul Onuachu | Southampton; centre-forward | Permanent | €5.67 million in four instalments |
| Christ Inao Oulai | Bastia; midfielder | Permanent | €5.5 million in four instalments |
| Felipe Augusto | Cercle Brugge; forward | Permanent | €5 million in three instalments |
| André Onana | Manchester United; goalkeeper | Loan for 2025–2026 | No loan fee to the previous club; player remuneration is separate |
Under the announced Onuachu agreement, Southampton is entitled to 20% of the proceeds from his next transfer. Bastia's 20% in the Oulai agreement applies to the balance after the specified acquisition payments are deducted from a future transfer fee. The percentages are equal, but their calculation bases differ.
Football analysis: These choices include forwards, a midfielder and a goalkeeper. Consider the needs of each unit: how the ball reaches the attack, the support provided by midfield, and cooperation between the goalkeeper and defence. This table documents summer 2025 arrivals; it does not state that every player remains at the club today.
Understanding transfer figures
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Transfer fee | Payment to the previous club for the transfer of the player's registration rights |
| Loan fee | Payment for a temporary agreement, which may have a separate purchase clause |
| Salary and signing payment | Amounts due to the player, kept separate from payments to his former club |
| Bonuses | Additional payments dependent on the agreement's conditions being met |
| Market value | A statistical estimate that may differ from the agreed price |
| Sell-on percentage | An entitlement linked to a future transfer; calculated on the full fee or the profit, depending on the contract |
A free transfer removes the transfer fee to the former club, but salaries, signing payments and commissions may remain substantial commitments. Paying in instalments changes the payment timetable; it does not turn each instalment into a separate deal.
“No fee stated in the signing announcement” means that the announcement reviewed did not include one. It does not mean that the transfer was free. For that reason, these tables are not added together and presented as total league spending, and circulating estimates are not treated as confirmed official amounts.
