Mount Erciyes lets visitors combine Kayseri's city sights with mountain activities. Winter visits focus on skiing and snow, while summer options include gondola rides, views and excursions announced by the resort operator.
Kayseri Municipality's figures published in March 2026 describe 41 ski runs totalling 112 km and 19 mountain transport installations. The runs and lifts actually open depend on weather and operating conditions on the day.
Erciyes has four main access areas, known as gates: Tekir, Hacılar, Hisarcık and Develi.
Your choice matters when arranging transport, lessons or accommodation. Enter the specific gate or hotel name in your map app. For an enclosed gondola ride, look at Tekir or Hacılar, where gondola cabins operate.
The official website classifies runs as easy in blue, intermediate in red and difficult in black. Choose terrain suited to your ability and begin with a lesson if this is your first time.
Skiing and snowboarding lessons are available, with Snow Academia information on the official site. The resort directory also lists private equipment hire providers.
When comparing offers, check lesson length, group size and whether equipment and lift tickets are included. The operator requires skiers to wear helmets.
You can enjoy Erciyes without skiing: ride a gondola, take photographs and spend time at the food and rest facilities.
Enclosed cabins operate at Tekir and Hacılar, and Kayseri Municipality confirmed summer operation in 2026. These rides reach designated mountain stations; reaching the mountain's actual summit requires a separate ascent.
Before buying a ticket, ask which route is operating, what the journey includes and when the last descent leaves that day.
Tickets distinguish pedestrians or sightseers, Yaya, from skiers, Kayakçı. Ski passes are also sold in packages based on the number of lift ascents. Choose the category for your activity: a skier's ticket cannot be used as a pedestrian ticket.
The official prices page sets out tariffs and conditions. Check which season it covers; a previous season's prices do not automatically apply to the next. At the time of this review, the page is labelled 2025–2026.
There is no guaranteed opening date for skiing every year. The operator determines it according to weather and preparation of the runs.
A summer visit can include a gondola ride, photographs and time at the mountain facilities. The operator also announces summer summit ascents requiring registration and provides a tent and caravan camping area.
These activities need different arrangements from a simple day visit. Check booking conditions and equipment requirements for each, and confirm availability rather than assuming every service runs daily throughout the year.
Mountain accommodation suits trips centred on skiing, reducing daily travel from the city. The official resort directory includes hotels such as DAS 3917, Radisson Blu Hotel, Mount Erciyes, and Mirada Del Lago.
Staying in Kayseri suits an itinerary combining the mountain with markets, landmarks and restaurants. Compare total accommodation and transfer costs, check the hotel's distance from your chosen gate, and ask whether it offers a shuttle.
Travel via Kayseri and continue to the resort by road. The operator describes seasonal buses from the Kale Önü stops at weekends during the ski season, with daily services during the school mid-year break.
Confirm outward and return times before leaving, as the service is seasonal and weather-dependent. For a first visit, allow a full day: arrive in the morning, take a lesson or gondola ride, stop for a meal, and return in time for the last available service.
