Political Party Membership in Türkiye: Checking Records and Resigning​

You may need to check your membership record, challenge an entry you do not recognise or leave a party. Start with the official inquiry and understand the separate action before submitting it.

⁦⁩ What does the inquiry show?​

The official register allows a person to check recorded party membership and obtain an electronic document where available. It is separate from the electoral register: a membership result or resignation does not by itself change voter registration.

Membership, founding status and party offices have separate inquiry services. Do not assume the membership result settles a founding role or office.

⁦⁩ Who is the guide for?​

Party membership is subject to Turkish legal conditions. General rules refer to Turkish citizenship, age 18 and the capacity to exercise civil and political rights, with restrictions for certain categories. A residence permit or foreigner number alone does not establish eligibility; check citizenship and category-specific rules with the responsible authority.

This guide explains an official register; it does not recommend joining a party or verify an individual record.

⁦⁩ Check through e-Devlet​

Sign in yourself through the official e-Devlet channel and search for Siyasi Parti Üyeliği Sorgulama. Open the inquiry, check the authority and read the result as displayed. Save the barcoded document if the service offers one.

Do not ask another person to sign in for you, or share your password, verification code, identity image or membership result with untrusted pages or accounts.

⁦⁩ If you do not recognise a membership​

Do not assume why a record exists or that it is correct. Keep the result and inquiry date securely, then ask the responsible authority or the recorded party to explain the basis of the entry and how to request correction or challenge it.

If you suspect your data was used without your knowledge, ask for a documented official route and consider legal advice if needed. Do not publish your details or accuse someone without evidence.

⁦⁩ How to resign​

If you wish to leave a recorded membership, search e-Devlet for Siyasi Parti Üyeliği İptal Başvurusu. Read the service name, details and confirmation carefully before submitting. Keep any receipt or reference the system provides and check again later.

The Chief Public Prosecutor also describes applying to the party or attending its political parties office. Other routes include applying in person with identification at the district election board for forwarding with the required letter, or sending the original notarised resignation document to the Chief Public Prosecutor. Confirm current conditions, addresses and documents with the authority before travelling.

⁦⁩ Resignation, correction and party roles​

Resignation communicates a wish to leave a recorded membership; challenging an incorrect record asks the authority to examine how it was made. Explain your request clearly. Resignation alone does not necessarily prove an earlier registration invalid or erase historical records.

If you are recorded as a founder or party officer, check the separate service and procedures for that role. A change in membership status alone does not establish that every office has ended.

⁦⁩ Follow up and protect your privacy​

Record the dates and any reference, check again after a reasonable interval, and contact the responsible authority if the result does not change or an error remains. This guide does not promise one processing time for every case.

Store documents securely. Share political affiliation, identity numbers or barcodes only when needed through a trusted official channel.

No. An inquiry displays a record; resignation is a separate request requiring confirmation.

Does resignation automatically end a party office?
Check the separate office or founder status and its procedure rather than assuming every role has ended.
