What changed in 2026?
The Central Bank of Turkey launched ÖHVPS 2.0.0 on 17 March 2026. The update introduced card information and transactions, future-dated payment initiation and recurring payment initiation. It therefore extends beyond viewing balances from several banks, although every app need not offer all the features immediately.Look for Açık Bankacılık, or an option for accounts at other banks, in the app you already use. Check which banks and account types it supports before starting.
Making an online payment
Understand the different permissions
| Service | What it enables | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Viewing information from an account you connect | Accounts, data and consent duration |
| Card information | Viewing covered card details and transactions | Which cards you agree to share |
| Payment initiation | Giving a payment instruction for an account elsewhere | Amount, payee and debit account |
| Future-dated or recurring payments | Arranging a later or repeated payment | Date, frequency and end conditions |
Connect an account carefully
Start with one account you actually need. Confirm its bank, currency and identifying details. If the balance looks outdated, check the last refresh time. An aggregated view does not replace the original bank statement when you need evidence of a payment.
Organising documents and an online application
A practical consent checklist
| Situation | Useful action | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Trying a new app | Select only the accounts needed | No unnecessary account connections |
| The service is no longer needed | Revoke information-sharing consent | The connection disappears or changes status |
| Changing the rent account | Review connections and payment instructions | The correct debit account is selected |
| A payment is scheduled | Check instructions before disconnecting | Which instructions remain or require separate cancellation |
Data consent and payment instructions
Never give a bank password or verification code to an employee or intermediary offering to connect your accounts. Consent belongs in the official authentication process.
Seeking assistance with an application
A useful everyday example
For foreign residents, account and service eligibility remain subject to the bank and app provider. A tax number or residence permit alone does not guarantee access to every connection process. Ask about your particular account.
