🏥 Planning care in Türkiye

Türkiye has public, university and private providers serving local and international patients. This overview covers cosmetic treatment, insurance, city hospitals and thermal tourism, with practical checks before booking.
Review, 8 October 2026: the original global leadership, 70% savings, guaranteed recovery and thermal-cure claims are not verified clinical or price benchmarks. A package or reputation does not establish an individual treatment's suitability.

Dental treatment and hair restoration

Clinics in destinations including Istanbul and Antalya advertise combined treatment, transfer and accommodation packages. Dental plans may use zirconia or lithium-disilicate products such as E.max; hair-transplant plans may use FUE with sapphire recipient-site blades or Choi/DHI implantation devices. Ask why the proposed method suits you and what alternatives exist.
Neither a technique name nor a promised density guarantees the result or a fast recovery. For dental work, understand any irreversible tooth preparation. Compare itemised current quotations rather than a blanket percentage saving against Europe, and agree aftercare and complication arrangements before paying.

Insurance for visitors and residents

  1. Travel insurance: may cover specified emergency illness, accidents and assistance. Visa applicants must check the relevant insurance requirements; the source's statement that the same policy is compulsory for every traveller's entry is too broad. Standard travel cover often excludes planned cosmetic treatment and its complications.
  2. Private residence insurance: many residence applications require valid health cover, subject to category and exemptions. A compliant policy's hospital network, benefits, exclusions, limits and contributions still need checking.
  3. SGK/GSS: public cover is available through defined eligibility routes, including employment and certain resident/student categories. Family members must qualify as dependants; the whole family is not automatically covered by one person's registration. Contracted private care may involve charges.

City hospitals (Şehir Hastaneleri)

Large city-hospital complexes, such as Başakşehir Çam ve Sakura in Istanbul, bring multiple services together. Equipment and specialist services differ by facility. Ask about the appropriate department, appointment route, referral and foreign-patient charges rather than assuming every complex offers every advanced procedure.

Thermal and rehabilitation tourism

Bursa, Afyonkarahisar and Yalova have thermal-tourism facilities. Some offer physiotherapy or supervised rehabilitation. Hot mineral water is not a general cure for bone or skin disease; discuss suitability and any risks with a qualified clinician, particularly if you have a long-term condition.

Before a procedure: verify the treating facility's licence, the clinician's credentials and the current international-health-tourism authorisation relevant to the provider or intermediary. A TÜRSAB travel-agency record alone is not a clinical licence and does not guarantee your legal or medical outcome.
