Istanbul Theatre Festival 2026: Late October and Early November Visit Guide

A practical selection of upcoming performances, venues and booking checks.

⁦1️⃣⁩ How to choose from the remaining programme

The organiser lists the 30th Istanbul Theatre Festival through 3 December 2026 at venues across the city. This guide selects upcoming events after 27 October; it is not the full programme.

Search for the performance and match its date, time, venue, language and entry terms to the current event page. Programmes can change and seats can sell out.

Choose by language, duration and format before choosing the day. A church production or opera-centre performance can have different arrangements from a conventional theatre. Read the experience description rather than inferring seating or child suitability from a poster.

⁦2️⃣⁩ Performances on 30 and 31 October

The organiser lists Bir Çeyiz Sözleşmesi on 30 and 31 October at 18:00 at Yeniköy Panayia Kilisesi. Check each date separately for tickets, language, duration and access.

Ve Ateş Bizi Tüketiyor is listed at Bakırköy Leyla Gencer Opera ve Sanat Merkezi on 31 October at 20:30 and 1 November at 18:00. Do not assume the second day has the same time.

Bir Çeyiz Sözleşmesi is written by Elif Özge Maltepe and directed by Murat Daltaban; the Turkish name helps locate the correct production. Ve Ateş Bizi Tüketiyor adapts Murat Gülsoy’s novel and is presented by Kocaeli municipal theatres. Keep the producing company separate from the Istanbul venue.

These are selected sessions, not the complete programme; the official calendar lists additional times. Prices verified on 28 October 2026 apply to the named sessions/categories and must be checked at checkout. Performance language and Arabic/English surtitles have not been established here for each session; do not assume they are provided.

⁦3️⃣⁩ A free event and a book-club meeting

Bellek Sahnesi Buluşması: Kumpanya is listed as free at TESAK on 31 October at 15:00. Free admission does not itself guarantee that registration is unnecessary or a seat is available; read the event instructions.

A Ve Ateş Bizi Tüketiyor book-club meeting appears on 2 November at Fiba Salon İKSV in the additional programme. Check its time and participation terms on its own page.

⁦4️⃣⁩ Tickets and language

The organiser directs visitors to Passo, its app and retail points, and the İKSV box office. Check the selected performance’s price, availability, service fee and cancellation conditions; do not reuse another show’s price.

Before buying, check the performance language and any announced surtitles or translation. Do not assume Arabic or English interpretation is provided. Check the age guidance, duration and interval.

The emailed PDF ticket can also be accessed under Biletlerim in your Passo account. Check the date, time, seat and category before confirming purchase. The festival’s ticket guidance says service charges are included in displayed prices.

Eczacıbaşı Genç Bilet has a limited allocation for each event and is personal and non-transferable. Entry requires suitable proof of student status; İstanbulkart alone is not accepted as proof. The organiser accepts overseas student cards under its stated conditions.

⁦5️⃣⁩ Choose the venue and return route

Events take place in Yeniköy, Bakırköy and other areas; a shared festival name does not mean one theatre. Save the exact Turkish address and entrance and compare the location with your last transport connection or return plan.

Allow for travel and queues, especially at weekends. Do not plan two events on one day without checking travel time and the length of each.

Festival instructions ask visitors to arrive at least thirty minutes early. Latecomers are not admitted and lateness does not qualify for a refund. Allow time to reach the entrance and pass checks, rather than counting only the transport journey.

Bags larger than a handbag, including suitcases and large backpacks, are not accepted and no cloakroom is offered. Arrange luggage storage before attending. Recording during the performance with a phone or camera is prohibited.

⁦6️⃣⁩ Accessibility and family visits

Ask the venue or organiser about wheelchair entrance, lifts, suitable seats, age limits and any hearing or translation arrangements. Facilities vary between venues.

Check admission instructions and door-closing times; keep your ticket available on your phone or in the format required by the organiser.

The Engelsiz Bilet category provides a request process for disabled visitors and companions through a form linked to a Passo account. A request is a booking-arrangement step rather than a confirmed ticket. Share the access requirements you choose to disclose and wait for the team’s confirmation.

General instructions ask that children under seven not attend and require tickets for children aged seven and over; individual productions can set a higher minimum. Check the production’s own limit rather than relying only on the festival-wide rule.

The venue difference matters: the Bir Çeyiz page describes steps and a sloping stone route at Panayia, with no wheelchair access, lift or accessible toilet, and no parking or cloakroom. The Leyla Gencer page describes a ramp, lift, wheelchair-accessible auditorium, two accessible toilets and one accessible parking space. Confirm the seat and entrance with the team before booking; listed facilities do not automatically reserve them.

⁦7️⃣⁩ A quick planning example

For the free Kumpanya meeting on 31 October, first check registration, the TESAK address and your return route. The evening Bakırköy show has a separate venue and ticket; compare timing and transport before combining them.

Recheck the programme on the day. These listings reflect the schedule announced when this guide was prepared, not a guarantee of availability or that timings will remain unchanged.

For a cancellation or date change, follow the exchange or refund procedure and deadline in its announcement. Venue or programme changes have different conditions; choosing not to attend does not automatically create a refund entitlement. Keep the change notice, ticket and seller’s response.

For example, someone choosing an 18:00 performance in Yeniköy first checks its language and age limit, then plans to arrive before 17:30 and arranges a return. The 17:30 planning time follows the thirty-minute recommendation; it is not a verified door-opening time for that show.

⁦8️⃣⁩ Common questions

Are all shows at one venue?
No. Match the specific venue to your route.

Does a free event guarantee a seat?
No. Check registration, capacity and its conditions.

Is every performance translated?
Do not assume so. Check each event’s language and announced surtitles.

Are ticket prices the same?
Check the selected event’s price, fees and availability before buying.
