Weekly Markets in Konya: Days and Locations in Meram, Karatay and Selçuklu
Neighbourhood markets in Konya differ by day, location and goods. These examples help you plan, but confirm operation before visiting.
Choose a market near your plans
The municipality lists neighbourhood markets in Karatay, Meram and Selçuklu; they are not all near the same visitor centre. Choose the district, market day and address, then allow for the outward and return trip.
Examples from the municipality’s list
The examples below reproduce days and addresses shown in Konya Metropolitan Municipality lists checked on 27 October 2026. Neither list gives a table update date or operating hours; locations and days can change. Confirm with the municipality before travelling: the list does not guarantee operation.
| Day | Market and district | Address |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Araplar vegetables — Karatay | Büyük Sinan Mah., Mirza Sok. |
| Tuesday | Muhacir clothing and household goods — Meram | Pirebi Mah., Larende Cad., beside the fish market |
| Wednesday | Melikşah fruit and vegetables — Meram | Melikşah Mah., Mola Sok. |
| Thursday | Seyit Çavuş (Nalçacı) — Selçuklu | Nişantaş Mah., Rauf Denktaş Cad., by İbrahim Yazıcı school |
| Friday | Hacı İsa Efendi — Meram | Yenişehir Mah., Çakılharmanlar Cad., Bodrum Sok. |
| Saturday and Sunday | Muhacir fruit and vegetables — Meram | Pirebi Mah., Larende Cad., beside the fish market |
Different goods can mean different days
The municipality lists Muhacir in Meram for clothing and household goods on Tuesday, and fruit and vegetables on Saturday and Sunday at the stated location. At Melikşah it lists household goods on Monday and fruit and vegetables on Wednesday; a familiar location does not guarantee the same goods or day.
Finding the address
Search with the Turkish name, address and district together. Check the drop-off point and return plan. Mah. means neighbourhood, Sok. street and Cad. avenue. If names repeat, match the district and address rather than relying on a short name.
Shop with a clear total
Walk around and compare the displayed price and unit of weight or quantity, then ask for the total. Bring a reusable bag and ask whether a seller accepts cards before choosing a large purchase; payment methods need not be the same at every stall.
Combine with the historic centre
Konya’s Bedesten is a historic commercial area, while the neighbourhood markets listed here have particular days and locations. You can combine them if the route and time suit your plans, but do not assume the weekly market is inside the Bedesten.
A practical example
A visitor in Meram wants fruit on Saturday. They search for Muhacir and the stated address, confirm operation with the municipality, and plan transport and the return. If they cannot confirm, they choose an alternative instead of travelling on the strength of an old list.
Common questions
Are all markets open every day?
No. Days and locations vary; check your chosen market before travelling.
Are clothing and produce sold on every market day?
Not necessarily. The listed goods differ by day at places such as Muhacir and Melikşah.
Are all these markets inside the Bedesten?
No. The neighbourhood markets and historic Bedesten are separate destinations.
