In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Türkiye Bursları, known in English as Türkiye Scholarships, offers competitive government-funded awards to international students. Its full-time programme combines financial support with university placement. It is substantial support, but personal expenses and costs outside the award terms can remain your responsibility.
- Tuition and placement: university and department placement and tuition coverage within the scholarship's conditions and approved study period.
- A monthly stipend: as checked on 8 October 2026, the official English funding pages list TRY 6,500 for associate and bachelor's students, TRY 9,500 for master's students and TRY 13,000 for PhD students. These replace the original article's approximate TRY 5,000 figure. The Turkish-language pages still display older amounts, so confirm the amount in your own award notice.
- Accommodation: arranged support depends on study level and the scholarship terms. Undergraduate awardees can receive dormitory accommodation throughout their studies; postgraduate dormitory provision normally covers the first year, with subsequent housing assistance under the published scheme. Do not assume every placement is a KYK dormitory or that identical meal arrangements apply everywhere.
- Health insurance: the scheme includes general health insurance. Covered treatment is subject to SGK rules; this does not mean every consultation, medicine or private treatment is free.
- Travel: a flight entitlement at the beginning of study and on graduation, under the programme's arrangements.
- Turkish language study: awardees without accepted C1 Turkish proficiency must complete the one-year Turkish course, including those placed on English-taught degrees.
- Main applications opened on 10 January 2026 and closed on 20 February 2026. That application window has now ended.
- The programme's published general calendar places assessment in March–April, interviews in April–June and results in early August, followed by initial arrangements in August and travel in September.

1. Write a specific letter of intent
Describe your academic path, why you chose the subject and why the available programmes in Türkiye fit your goals. Explain how you hope to use the education after graduation, including any contribution you plan to make to your home community. Use your own experience rather than a copied template.
2. Document genuine activities
Volunteering, community associations, sport, academic projects or cultural and religious achievements can help explain your interests and contributions when genuinely relevant. Include verifiable evidence. There is no official basis for claiming that an activity raises your chances by a fixed 50%.
3. Choose a referee who knows your work
Where references are requested, ask a teacher or academic who can describe your abilities with specific examples. A personal, credible account is more useful than a prestigious name with little knowledge of you.
Selection considers several aspects of the application. There are no secret methods or guaranteed places, and a strong statement cannot replace mandatory eligibility requirements.
