Tennis in Türkiye 2026: Tournaments, Rankings and Entry for Juniors, Adults and Masters
Tennis in Türkiye offers several routes: recreational coaching, national tournaments, adult Masters competition and a separate international pathway. This guide helps players and families choose an event and understand entries, rankings and costs. Information was reviewed on 28 October 2026. A court being located at a club or hotel does not establish that every tournament there is open to everyone or awards ranking points.

Identify your route before choosing an event
Decide whether you want lessons, a first organised match, ranking competition or professional tennis to follow. Hourly court hire and coaching are different from tournament registration. A beginner benefits from a coach’s assessment and a suitable event rather than paying for a competition above their current standard.
For national competition, use the Turkish Tennis Federation, TTF, calendar and the event details in i-Kort. For juniors, the permitted age category and entry conditions matter more than a name resembling an adult competition. National points do not automatically become ATP or WTA ranking points.
The men’s World Tennis Tour connects entry-level professional competition with higher levels; relevant tournament results contribute to the ATP ranking. That is a different pathway from a recreational or Masters event, even at the same venue. Keep the series, category and year alongside the tournament name.
Licensing, annual validation and i-Kort
TTF’s 2026 notice directs players to provincial or district youth and sports offices for licensing and annual validation, personally or through authorised club staff. The resulting card is then used in i-Kort procedures. In this context, vize means sporting validation for the season; it is separate from a visa to enter Türkiye.
Prepare the health document required by the current system and the sport’s risk classification, written parental or guardian permission for under-18s and the requested identity photographs. Photo counts differ for individual and club licences, with evidence of the club relationship also required for a club licence. The regulation of 11 August 2026 distinguishes an athlete medical report from a health-status document. Do not assume the same medical report is mandatory for every application from the January notice alone. Confirm the required document with the competent authority and establish who submits the application.
The January 2026 notice states no charge for issuing a new licence and a TRY 1,290 annual validation charge for 2026. Do not automatically add an issue fee to the validation fee or pay an intermediary using an old announcement. Foreign nationals should confirm accepted identity evidence, eligibility and licence type with the office and TTF before incurring tournament expenses.
Entry, acceptance and withdrawal are different
i-Kort displays tournaments available to the player’s account. TTF describes selecting Turnuva İşlemleri, then Katılabileceğim Turnuvalar and the event’s Katıl control. Check the registered-tournament list and confirmation message afterwards, then establish actual acceptance: submitting an application is not a guaranteed main-draw place.
Before confirming, read the category, city, courts, dates, surface, entry deadline and withdrawal deadline. Resolve priorities if applications overlap, under the relevant series rules. If plans change, use the proper withdrawal procedure and verify completion. Telling a friend or simply staying away does not establish that entry was cancelled.
Agree doubles arrangements early: partner, category, names, entry and costs. Check that the intended partnership appears correctly. Families should settle communications, supervision and travel with the club. A social-media announcement cannot replace the event information and organiser’s confirmation.
Masters and beginners are not one category
Masters includes national ranking tournaments, age-group competition, teams and an international route. TTF’s February 2026 clarification allows 18+ and beginner categories only within T100, T200 and T300 events. They cannot be opened in T400, T500, the T700 Turkish Championships or T1000 Presidential Cup. A higher event number does not mean more suitable access for a newcomer.
Court capacity may also require age groups to play on different dates. Find the schedule for your actual category, rather than the first day of the overall announcement. The 2026 individual Turkish Championships in Sorgun, Antalya, illustrates the split below. Both published entry deadlines had passed when this guide was prepared; this is not an invitation to enter late.
| 2026 individual Turkish Championships groups | Announced competition window | Published entry deadline |
|---|---|---|
| 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+ and 80+ | 25 October–1 November; main draw 26 October–1 November | 19 October, 18:00; passed |
| 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+ and 50+ | 31 October–8 November; main draw 3–8 November | 26 October, 18:00; passed |
Read rankings, draws and results carefully
A ranking records points under its own system, rather than universal ability on every surface or in every category. Entry acceptance may use a different ranking snapshot from the current points used for seeding. If numbers differ, check the list’s date and ranking type before assuming a calculation error.
For Masters, the February 2026 notice says 30% of points from doubles and mixed doubles at ranking events contribute to the singles ranking in the player’s registered age category. Doubles and mixed points are calculated separately in the profile. Do not transfer an older general junior-points explanation into the current Masters system.
Identify the draw and round: qualifying precedes the main draw, and one match win is not a tournament title. If the total falls after a new event, inspect which performances count and the ranking period. More appearances do not necessarily mean a higher total. Keep the official result and opponent’s correct name.
Masters charges in 2026 and additional expenses
These examples come from the published 2026 Masters fee list available on 28 October. They do not include coaching, practice-court hire, transport, accommodation, meals or racket restringing. For doubles, establish the individual player’s share and payment arrangements in the event information.
| Item | Published TRY amount | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Annual sporting validation, 2026 | 1,290 | Separate from tournament entry |
| Masters Turkish Championships singles | 2,400 | Entry for the applicable category |
| T500 / T300 / T100 singles | 2,200 / 1,800 / 1,400 | Varies by tournament series |
| Beginner-category entry | 1,300 | Only in events allowing the category |
| Singles W.O non-attendance penalty | 2,800 | A potential penalty under the rules, not an ordinary entry fee |
Distinguish the organising club’s federation contribution from the player’s charge: appearing in the same document does not make both your bill. Obtain written entry, cancellation, absence and refund terms. Confirm the payee and payment method through the event’s channels before sending money.
Plan the match day or spectator visit
Check the daily order of play, venue, time and reporting instructions before travelling, especially when qualifying and main-draw schedules differ. Ask about the surface, indoor or outdoor courts and weather-related arrangements. Agree suitable preparation with the coach and follow officials and venue instructions during play.
Prepare identity and validated licensing documents, confirmation, rackets, kit and footwear suitable for the surface. Companions should check admission, photography and accessibility. A hotel booking or player credential does not establish every access entitlement. For remote following, use the specific event’s announced schedule, official results and authorised coverage.
Afterwards review the result and recorded points with the coach, log expenses and agree the next step. A sustainable first competition and measurable development are more useful than professional promises or a large event count without suitable preparation and funding.
Common questions
Does sporting vize mean a travel visa?
Here it means seasonal licence validation. Entry permission for Türkiye is separate.
Can every Masters event accept beginners?
Check the category: the 2026 clarification restricts 18+ and beginner categories to T100, T200 and T300.
Can I now enter the named Sorgun championship?
Published deadlines were 19 and 26 October and had passed when reviewed; do not assume late acceptance.
Are TTF points the same as ATP points?
No. Identify the system and series; national, Masters and professional pathways have different rules.
Does entry cover coaching and accommodation?
Do not assume so. Request a written event-specific cost breakdown.
