Kenan Yıldız is one of the leading figures of the new Turkish generation in European football. He progressed from Juventus’ youth teams to the first team, received the number 10 shirt and extended his contract until 2030. Creating chances, scoring goals and taking on greater responsibility have become central to his place in the side.
The start of 2026–2027 brought a different challenge. An early injury and surgery made his recovery an essential part of assessing his season, alongside his statistics and tactical role.
This profile examines his progress at the club, the previous season’s awards, his current Serie A figures and the official rehabilitation updates.
Information updated: 1 October 2026. The current-season figures below cover Serie A only.

Yıldız developed as a footballer in Germany and spent years in Bayern Munich’s academy before moving to Juventus. He chose to represent Türkiye internationally and played for the senior national team at EURO 2024.
His Juventus career did not begin directly in the senior side. He first played for the Under-19s, then Next Gen, before earning his first-team opportunity.
| Date or period | Milestone |
|---|---|
| Summer 2022 | Moved from Bayern Munich’s academy to Juventus. |
| First Under-19 season | Scored 15 goals in 37 appearances. |
| 17 December 2022 | Made his professional debut for Juventus Next Gen. |
| 20 August 2023 | Made his first-team debut as a substitute in the 3–0 win against Udinese. |
| 23 December 2023 | Made his first Serie A start and scored his first league goal against Frosinone. |
| 16 August 2024 | Was announced as the club’s new number 10. |
| 20 September 2025 | Became Juventus’ youngest captain, against Verona. |
| 7 February 2026 | His contract extension until 30 June 2030 was announced. |
The breakthrough goal: His first against Frosinone came after beating three opponents and shooting right-footed inside the near post. At 18 years and 233 days, he became Juventus’ youngest foreign goalscorer in Serie A.
These milestones distinguish his first senior appearance against Udinese from his first start against Frosinone, the match in which he also scored his first goal.
Yıldız took the number 10 shirt from 2024–2025. The February 2026 extension then committed his future to the club until summer 2030.
At the renewal announcement, Juventus’ management and coaching staff connected his continued presence with building the team’s future, highlighting the development of his personality and his influence on the group.

Wearing number 10 brings considerable expectations from supporters. His position on the pitch, however, depends on the system and tactical instructions: the shirt number alone does not determine whether he plays nearer the wing, behind the striker or elsewhere in attack.
Several individual awards reflected the sustained influence he had during the previous campaign.
| Period | Award |
|---|---|
| August 2025 | Serie A EA SPORTS FC Player of the Month. |
| November 2025 | Rising Star of the Month — best Under-23 player. |
| March 2026 | Rising Star of the Month — best Under-23 player. |
| 2025–2026 season | Rising Star of the Season — best Under-23 player. |
In the four March matches covered by the award announcement, he scored twice and provided two assists. This was a specifically monthly return, which helps explain his selection for that period.
Reading the statistics: News reports published during a season record a player’s contribution at the announcement date. Each figure should therefore be linked to its period before being treated as a final season total.
The Serie A section of Yıldız’s Juventus profile showed the following figures when checked on 1 October 2026:
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| Appearances | 1 |
| Minutes | 69 |
| Goals | 0 |
| Assists | 0 |
| Shots on target | 1 |
Yıldız played in the season opener against Frosinone on 23 August 2026, when Juventus won 1–0 through Gleison Bremer’s goal.
The match report highlighted a pass from Yıldız that created an attacking opportunity for Lloyd Kelly, along with a Yıldız attempt saved near the end of the first half. These moments show his contribution both to building attacks and attempting to finish them, despite recording neither a goal nor an assist.
His available playing time at this update was limited. Assessing the current season will therefore require following his appearances after his return and his ability to regain continuity.
Three aspects of his attacking role can be seen in the examples above:
Beating opponents: His first goal against Frosinone clearly demonstrated how he can take on defenders and create shooting space for himself.
Creating chances: His March 2026 contributions and the pass singled out in the current season’s opening report show how he also helps teammates reach promising attacking positions.
Combining goals and assists: Two goals and two assists in four March games illustrate the range of his contribution during that period.
This assessment is based on specific examples. His role after recovery will emerge from his actual position in the line-up, his movement, and the relationships he develops with the striker and nearby teammates around the penalty area.

| Date | Confirmed development |
|---|---|
| 31 August 2026 | Underwent surgery to fix a fracture at the base of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot; the operation was announced as successful. |
| 1 September 2026 | The rehabilitation programme was scheduled to begin, according to the club’s medical statement. |
| 5 September 2026 | Spalletti described the difficulty of replacing Yıldız when discussing the team’s absentees. |
| 20 September 2026 | Yıldız was absent from the official squad for Atalanta. |
Return date: The surgery statement gave no recovery timetable. At the article’s 1 October review date, the official pages reviewed had not provided an announcement setting a date for his return to matches.
The profile will be updated with any official announcement of his return to full team training, followed by the first match squad to include him and his first appearance after rehabilitation.
His first appearance will be an important step. Attention will then turn to regular selection, playing time and his attacking role. Once he has accumulated enough appearances, his goals and assists can be compared with the previous season.
Yıldız has the backing of the club, a strong record of individual recognition and a long Juventus contract. The next stage will show how he resumes his progress after the interruption and turns that trust into performances on the pitch.
