Can Uzun begins the 2026–2027 season at Eintracht Frankfurt aged 20, wearing number 42. His opening performances combine goals and assists, while the distinction between his league and cup figures offers a more useful picture of his season.

Born in Regensburg on 11 November 2005, Uzun developed in German football before making his breakthrough at Nürnberg. He scored 16 second-division goals in 2023–2024, then joined Frankfurt in summer 2024 on a contract announced at the time as running until June 2029.
The Türkiye international can play in attacking midfield or behind the striker, with his role depending on the line-up and the demands of the match.
Last updated: 1 October 2026. These figures cover competitive club matches.
| Measure | Bundesliga | All competitions |
|---|---|---|
| Appearances | 4 | 5 |
| Goals | 2 | 4 |
| Assists | 0 | 3 |
| Goals plus assists | 2 | 7 |
Frankfurt’s website also records five starts and 414 minutes played: an opening spell that gives him meaningful time on the pitch to establish his place in the side.
On 21 August 2026, Uzun scored twice and supplied three assists in Frankfurt’s 11–0 German Cup win over St. Tönis. Five of his seven goal contributions came in that match against fifth-tier opposition, so separating his cup return from his Bundesliga record helps put the opening figures in context.

In the cup tie, coach Adi Hütter used him in one of the attacking positions behind the two forwards. He created two goals from corners, scored twice inside the penalty area and added another assist late in the match.
Tactical assessment: This performance illustrates how Uzun can combine creating for the forwards with getting into goalscoring positions himself. Playing behind the front line allows him to help build attacks, then advance as the ball moves wide or space opens up inside the area.
Over the coming rounds, useful points to watch include the speed of his decisions under pressure, the timing of his runs into the penalty area and his contribution when possession is lost. Repeating these actions against stronger defences will provide a firmer basis for assessing his development.
Uzun played 76 minutes in Türkiye’s 1–0 Nations League defeat by France on 25 September 2026. At this article’s update date, the national team’s next fixtures were Belgium on 2 October and Italy on 5 October.
International matches offer another opportunity to follow his adaptation to different teammates and a different competitive rhythm, alongside his weekly work at Frankfurt.
Which aspect do you expect to define Can Uzun’s season: creating chances behind the striker, or becoming a greater goalscoring threat inside the area?
