The decision and effective date
The Central Bank of Turkey announced the increase on 24 August 2026, effective 26 August. Ordinary transfers and Ödeme İste payments rose from TRY 100,000 to TRY 300,000. Dynamically verified merchant payments using FAST-TR QR rose from TRY 250,000 to TRY 300,000.A guide stating TRY 100,000 for an ordinary transfer describes the earlier ceiling. When consulting an older guide, check the stated limit against its effective date before transferring.
Organising documents and an online application
Before and after the change
| Transaction type | Previous ceiling | From 26 August 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary FAST transfer | TRY 100,000 | TRY 300,000 per transaction |
| Ödeme İste payment | TRY 100,000 | TRY 300,000 per transaction |
| Dynamically verified FAST-TR QR merchant payment | TRY 250,000 | TRY 300,000 per transaction |
Why might your bank allow less?
If your app shows a lower figure, check transfer settings or ask the bank about your account’s limit. Do not enter information on an outside website promising to raise it or pay an intermediary claiming to bypass restrictions.
Making an online payment
Four separate figures
| Figure | Meaning | Example to review |
|---|---|---|
| FAST transaction ceiling | System ceiling for that transaction type | Ordinary transfers up to TRY 300,000 |
| Account or channel limit | What your bank allows for that operation | May be below the system ceiling |
| Daily limit | Total permitted transfers for the day | Check how much has already been used |
| Available balance | Money actually available to spend | Allow for holds and applicable fees |
Large payments and the secure-payment service
For a payment above the ordinary ceiling, ask the bank about a suitable method. Splitting payments can affect fees and daily limits and should not be used to avoid identification or documentation requirements.
Checking and signing a contract
Two examples
Check the transaction type, available limit and cost before paying, then keep the receipt and reference. A higher ceiling does not remove the need to verify the payee and IBAN or guarantee recovery of a mistaken payment.
