The top division is the Halkbank Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi (KBSL). The announced 2026–2027 schedule has 11 teams, with the regular season running from 26 September 2026 to a planned finish on 6 March 2027.
Participating clubs include Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, Çimsa Çukurova Basketbol Mersin, Emlak Konut, BOTAŞ, Nesibe Aydın and OGM Ormanspor. The competition also includes Turgutlu Belediyespor, İstanbul Gençlik Spor and Kayseri Basketbol.
Teams beyond the biggest names are worth following too. Their meetings with title contenders reveal the quality of their defence, their ability to take chances and the responsibility carried by Turkish players.

- The Turkish Cup: A separate competition, with its own outcome distinct from the league standings.

Türkiye returned to the Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2026 for the first time since 2018. Sevgi Uzun recorded 11 assists without committing a turnover against Belgium, despite Türkiye losing the match 75–89.
That performance shows the value of looking beyond points scored. Creating chances, protecting possession and defending all help explain a player’s contribution.
Choose a domestic club and follow its league and European games. Compare shooting efficiency, rebounding, turnovers and the contribution of substitutes over several matches. Also check when squads are complete, as some players join their Turkish clubs after fulfilling their WNBA commitments.
