If you are applying from inside Syria through the Turkish missions in Damascus or Aleppo, start by checking the authorised application channel. In its announcement of 23 July 2026, the Turkish Embassy in Damascus identified Visa for Globe Syria as the sole official application acceptance centre authorised on behalf of the Embassy and the Consulate General in Aleppo. The two Turkish missions retain the final authority to issue visas and decide applications.
This clarification explains where to submit a file and who makes the decision. It does not exempt ordinary Syrian passport holders from visas or require every Syrian living abroad to apply from Syria. Its practical value is to help applicants use the correct office, prepare documents for their actual travel purpose and retain a reference they can track.
Who does this route cover?
This guide concerns applications lodged from Syria through the Turkish Embassy in Damascus and Consulate General in Aleppo. If you live in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or another country, check the Turkish mission responsible for your country of residence and the requirements for your nationality and passport type.Keep two questions separate: do you need a visa for your travel document, and where are you eligible to lodge an application? Nationality can determine the first answer; residence and consular jurisdiction can affect the second. Confusing them can lead to preparing documents for a route that does not cover your circumstances.
| Applying from Syria through Damascus or Aleppo | The authorised Visa for Globe Syria centre | The centre receives the application; the Turkish mission decides it |
| A Syrian resident of another country | The Turkish mission responsible for the country of residence | This announcement does not require travel to Syria to apply |
| Applying from Syria with a non-Syrian passport | Check application acceptance conditions with the centre | Local residence or Syrian nationality evidence may be required for the listed category |
| Eligible for an exemption based on passport type | Check the rule for your document, purpose and stay | Authorising an application centre is not a new visa exemption |
The application centre and the decision maker
The centre's website offers appointment booking and application tracking, with offices in Damascus and Aleppo. Start with the official application centre website for Syria to select a service and read the relevant document list. Check the office and its hours before travelling there; application submission and passport collection can have different time slots. If someone offers administrative help, distinguish form filling or document organisation from authority to issue a visa. The Embassy's announcement does not authorise another organisation in Syria to accept applications on its behalf. An advertisement or verbal promise does not establish accreditation, and paying for an additional service does not transfer the mission's decision-making authority.
Select the travel purpose before the checklist
The centre publishes separate categories including study, medical treatment, family reunion, business meetings, conferences and transit. Do not begin with a checklist forwarded by another applicant without establishing which category it covers. It may fit that person's case while omitting evidence needed for yours.Study applicants should first check eligibility to submit their study application from Syria. The published list has conditions concerning previous university registration or the applicant's acceptance circumstances, and redirects other specified cases to Beirut. Medical applicants should check the document named for their category rather than rely only on a clinic appointment. Family reunion has conditions concerning the inviting person's status, relationship and family register; not every visit to a relative is a family reunion application.
Write down your actual purpose in one sentence, open its checklist, and turn it into your own preparation list. If your purpose is missing or the acceptance conditions do not fit, ask the centre for clarification before booking or paying for unnecessary translations.
Organising a clear application file
Group the file into identity and travel document information, proof of travel purpose, financial or employment information, and family documents where required. Compare the spelling of names and passport number across the form and supporting documents. Correct a discrepancy in Latin-letter spelling before submitting. There is no single checklist for every category. Photo quantities, bank statement periods and invitation requirements can differ. Check the authentication and Turkish sworn translation instructions for your category. Keep the original and translation together when both are required, and do not automatically treat a phone photograph as a substitute for an original document.
| Identify the route | Application location, passport type and travel purpose |
| Prepare documents | The category's checklist, document validity and matching names |
| Authenticate and translate | Your checklist's requirements and accepted language, rather than another applicant's assumptions |
| Book the appointment | The selected office, applicant details and booking confirmation |
| Submit the file | The transaction receipt, application reference and any request for further documents |
| Collect the passport | Name, passport number and visa details if a visa is issued |
Fees and timing without unsupported promises
Before paying, ask for the separate items: visa fee, centre service charge and any additional service you choose. Understand what each payment covers and keep its receipt. This helps avoid confusion when you also request form assistance or document delivery.Do not rely on a price from an old application; check what applies to your category when lodging it. Similarly, do not turn an intermediary's processing estimate into a guaranteed issue date. Build flexibility into travel arrangements and read booking amendment conditions before making a substantial commitment.
Tracking and receiving the outcome
After submission, use the centre's tracking service and keep the application reference accessible. If the mission asks for further information, supply the requested material in the specified form and compare it with the rest of the file. Do not change the travel purpose to fit a guess about a delay. When collecting the passport, check it before finalising travel. If a visa has been issued, read its start and end dates, permitted entries and allowed stay. Receiving a passport or completing an administrative stage alone does not establish those details; you need to understand what the issued visa actually says.
Three common questions
Does the centre guarantee approval? No. Receiving and preparing a file are different from making the final decision, which rests with the Turkish Embassy in Damascus and Consulate General in Aleppo.
Did the 23 July announcement remove visa requirements for Syrians?
No. It identifies the authorised application channel. Visa exemption is a separate matter involving nationality, document type, purpose and duration.
Can I use the study or medical checklist for a family visit?
Use the list matching the actual purpose. Ask for clarification where a case combines different reasons for travel; the details of each file can differ.
