What the TROY logo tells you
The logo identifies the payment-processing network. It does not automatically make a card a credit card or a free product. Spending limits, balances, instalments, annual fees and rewards depend on the issuer and product.First establish whether the card spends an account balance, provides a credit limit or requires prepaid funding. For foreign residents, eligibility and the type of card issued remain subject to the provider’s checks. Choosing TROY does not guarantee approval.
Making an online payment
Check acceptance by setting
| Setting | What to check | Practical action |
|---|---|---|
| Shop in Turkey | Terminal support and card status | Use an available payment method |
| Online shop | Network acceptance and online settings | Review the app and official verification |
| ATM in Turkey | Withdrawal limits and ATM charges | Read the displayed cost before confirming |
| Travel or a foreign merchant | International logos on the card and local acceptance | Ask the issuer and arrange a backup |
Domestic and overseas use differ
Do not assume a TROY card works at every international website or in every country. Before booking a hotel or car, check the required card network, card type and deposit conditions. An international logo does not remove card limits or a merchant’s requirements.

Questions for the issuer
| Question | Why it matters | Record to keep |
|---|---|---|
| Is there an annual fee? | The logo does not determine whether a card is free | Current product tariff |
| What are the spending and withdrawal limits? | Products have different limits | The limits shown in your app |
| Will this particular card work overseas? | Acceptance depends on the network and card | An answer specific to your card |
| Which digital wallet is supported? | NFC requires compatible devices and services | Official activation instructions |
Contactless and phone payments
If payment is declined, check the balance or limit, online or overseas settings, and card status. Ask the issuer about that specific transaction instead of repeatedly retrying without knowing the cause.
Organising documents and an online application
Prepare for travel and purchases
If the card is lost or an unfamiliar transaction appears, immediately contact the issuer through a trusted number and request the appropriate block and next steps. The issuing bank or institution is the starting point for account problems and transaction disputes.
