🏟️ EURO 2032: Türkiye and Italy Prepare to Co-host the Tournament

Türkiye and Italy will host UEFA EURO 2032, following UEFA’s official announcement on 10 October 2023. This will be the first time Türkiye has staged matches at the European Championship finals, marking a significant moment in Turkish football.

Preparations centre on selecting stadiums, assessing their readiness and developing the services that teams and supporters will need during the tournament.

🏗️ Preparations in Türkiye

On 16 April 2026, the Turkish Football Federation and UEFA held a coordination meeting to discuss the New Ankara Stadium project and its compliance with EURO 2032 requirements. The discussions covered technical and organisational matters, as well as the planned refurbishment of Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

Selecting a stadium involves assessing the building and its facilities, match operations, supporter services, accessibility, security and media provision.

🇮🇹 How far have Italian preparations progressed?

On 30 September 2026, the Italian Football Federation announced that it had submitted dossiers for 13 cities and 14 stadiums to UEFA for further evaluation.

The candidate cities include Rome, Milan, Turin, Naples, Florence and Bari, alongside others. Rome has two options: the Stadio Olimpico and the proposed new stadium at Pietralata.

The federation said it would select its five venues after UEFA completed its compliance reviews, covering areas including infrastructure, supporter services, accessibility, sustainability, security and hospitality. Submitting a city’s dossier is therefore one stage in the process; approval to host tournament matches comes later.

🎟️ What should supporters follow next?

The key announcements to watch are the final stadium selection, the allocation of matches between the two countries, the opening and final venues, the detailed schedule and the stages of ticket sales.

When planning a trip, start with the city hosting the match and use that to choose accommodation and transport. Visiting both countries will require coordinating match dates with travel between them.

EURO 2032 will offer the chance to watch a major continental tournament in Türkiye and give the host cities an opportunity to develop their stadiums and supporter services. Confirmation of the final venues will be a major step towards understanding how the tournament will take shape.

Information as at 1 October 2026, based on official announcements from UEFA and the Turkish and Italian football federations.
